Since we were supposed to have Rain all night and most of this morning I didn’t care if I slept in or not. After One restless night I decided that it wasn’t going to happen again so I took a Nytol before going to bed. By 3:00 I was once again wide awake listening to the Rain pounding on our roof. After laying there for a Half Hour I added an Extra Strength Tylenol to help me sleep. The next time I opened my eyes there was barely any light in the room but the sound of the Rain on our roof was very noticeable. That’s when I saw that it was minutes from 9:00 in the morning.
Water flowing behind the Truck and the Mountains have disappeared.
I had every Window Shade raised in the Trailer and it still looked like night time. There was a small stream of Water running behind the Truck and the normally dry Washes were flowing like small Rivers. The Mountains had all disappeared from sight lost in the Clouds of Rain.
This Wash was dry yesterday and that Water is about Two Feet Deep.
I had barely gotten things ready for breakfast when Kathy came downstairs to join me. She was as surprised as I was when she looked outside. This was one of the few days that she didn’t have to lower the Window Shades by the Table because there was no Sunlight to bother her Eyes.
Mountains breaking through the Mist.
After having Breakfast we simply made it a Two Cup morning while doing our morning reading on the Computers. By 11:00 the Rain had stopped and in the distance we could see lines breaking through the mist showing where the Mountains had been hiding.
For lunch Kathy made Baked Beans on Toast giving us protein without the Fat.
With the Forecast calling for more Rain this afternoon we didn’t wait too long to head back into Quartzsite for a couple more errands. As we drove along the Clouds were parting allowing Sunlight and Blue Sky to appear.
The first stop was back to Quiet Times Greeting Card Shop for another Parcel pickup that had arrived shortly after we left yesterday. We spoke with the Owner about the UPS decision to not recognize her business as a shipping depot. She had called the UPS Corporate Office first thing this morning but never got a return call. The Letter given to her was dated March 7th but hand delivered to her yesterday the 11th saying she was terminated on the 13th. The Driver for UPS told her this morning that they would still be making deliveries to Quiet Times as long as she was open for business.
She believes UPS is restructuring because Amazon is now doing a lot of their own shipping and delivering in other words cutting out the middle man. They have their own Trucks and Planes along with sending more things through the USPS. It was a shock but she will survive.
We went over to Coyote Fresh Foods to pick up a few things before heading back Home.
Driving into La Posa South LTVA we were amazed that all the Flags and Windsocks that everyone had up were just hanging limply. There wasn’t a shred of a breeze yet the sky was filled with Clouds
Once everything was put away I went over to talk first with Wayne who is getting ready to move his Utility Trailer closer to his home by bringing it up to Idaho this week. That will get it closer to home and then they will return here to slowly close up their RV before taking it home. They are not rushing because there is still Three Feet of Snow covering their Driveway. Hopefully it will be melted before they get there. Then they can go back to pick up the Utility Trailer doing a day trip. I also informed him that Coyote Fresh Foods is having another Outdoor Cookout this Thursday.
From there I went to talk with Ken and again I inform him of the Outdoor Cookout at Coyote Fresh Foods. Kathy and I had seen a pickup drive around his RV yesterday so I mentioned that to him as well. It was while were talking that the Wind started picking up and made our 55 F (13 C) feel much colder making Ken start to shiver.
Having picked up a Quarter Slab of Spareribs to share and a Medium Macaroni Salad along with a Raspberry Pie at Coyote Fresh Foods today supper was ready in no time at all.
The Winds have increased and are supposed to be around Thirty MPH tomorrow so we’ll see what we get into. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
