Putting Our Names In, Figuring Just How Much, Using the Bartering System and Teaching Our Kids Something New.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

We watched the local 11 o’clock News before going to bed last night in an effort to be certain we would sleep. Once we were all tucked in we started staring at the ceiling too wide awake to be sleeping. As if on cue we both sat up to get out of bed only minutes after midnight. Neither of us were tired so we went back to the living room where Kathy continued reading the book she had just put down not even an hour before. I completed a Numerical Fill-In I’ve been working on for days before starting another. It was past 1:30 when we headed back to bed to try to sleep even though we were not yet feeling tired. It must have worked because we both opened our eyes and woke feeling refreshed shortly before 9:00 this morning.

While we sat down to have our breakfast we discussed what had been suggested yesterday which was the possibility of our moving to the site where our friends Larry and Nichol had been. We weighed the pros and the cons about our present site as well as the site we were considering moving to. We decided to go for it and were on our way to the Park Office to put a reserve on it.

Unfortunately, when we arrived Darlene was filling in for Val who has to authorize those kinds of moves. If we were choosing a vacant site at the end of the season it would have been no problem but because this was the already over a month into the season it was different. While at the office we also made a payment on our Electric Bill so that we don’t get slammed with a high bill at the end of the season.

After leaving the Park Office we drove back to the Park Clubhouse. At one end of the building is the Exchange Library where Kathy planned on exchanging the bag filled with books that she had brought from Home. I walked around the building to the Park Exercise Room where I managed to get rid of a number of aches and pains. By the time I felt better Kathy was already sitting in the car reading one of her newfound books waiting for me.

Back Home it was time to make a few phone calls. The first was to verify there were no voice messages waiting for us. Next, I called Sun Parlour Trailer asking if they had certain Sewer Connection Fittings in stock to use on our waste barrel.

Once lunch was over I went outside where I was able to locate what Wood Materials I have in stock inside our Garden Shed. I also managed to move the Old Roof Vent that used to be in our bedroom along with a Folding Step to the back seat of the truck. It was amazing how much room that was taking up in the Shed.

Back inside I sat down with all my measurements and calculated how much more material would have to be purchased so that I can install additional shelves in the kitchen. I had just finished figuring all that out when Kathy suggested two more shelves be added to the list. After more measuring and calculating I had my new material list made.

We left home shortly after 4:00 heading to Sun Parlour Trailer just outside Amherstburg because they close at 5:00. Rob has always treated us well so when I have old RV Parts I drop them off to him and he uses them to repair used RVs he has taken as Trade-Ins. I after giving him the Vent offered him the Folding Step for a reasonable price which was applied towards the parts I was purchasing and we were both happy.
The edges of the Wheat Fields are starting to brown.
It was nearly 5:00 when we arrived at Mealtime Restaurant in Amherstburg where we enjoyed their Fish and Chip Dinners. The best part was that on top of our having a great meal with this being Thursday they also gave us a 10% Seniors Discount. The meal was more filling then usual because we haven’t been eating as much lately.

We walked around the Dollarama next door to walk off some of our dinner. Kathy had to contemplate over a few different storage devices that she’ll use to better organize our Office Cabinets

Just before 6:00 we arrived at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s home for our weekly visit. We talked about all kinds of things but we were surprised that neither of them realized why their Cell Phones weren’t holding a charge. They were leaving open Apps running in the background and didn’t know they had to shut them off. Melissa had over thirty Apps running and couldn’t understand why her phone was so slow. We still managed to have some fun which always brings out the laughter. We must be a healthy family because the experts say “Laughter is the best Medicine”

On our way home we thought we were seeing the Sun setting like it does in Quartzsite. It was beautiful! Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. “Laughter is the best Medicine”. I learned that many years ago when I use to read that section of the Readers Digest while in High School.
Glad you and Kathy are feeling better.
