It is totally amazing how soundly you can sleep when you have been exposed to enormous amounts of fresh air. I managed to get out of bed just before 8:00 this morning and it was only moments later that Kathy joined me in the kitchen. Looking out the balcony door did nothing to lift our spirits as the thick cloud cover and the large puddles in the parking lot were not too encouraging. We figured we would just make use of the day by continuing our packing.
Finishing our morning coffees at our computers we were surprise when the phone rang shortly after 9:00. It was Dan the building manager calling us to say a mistake had been made. Yesterday was Dan’s day off so the Skyline Living Company had sent another local building manager over just to check for phone messages and to be certain nothing was wrong at our building. Just as she was about to leave a call came in inquiring about any vacancies. It was at that same moment that she looked up on Dan’s bulletin board and noticed our notice to leave so she booked an appointment for this morning. We told him the place was a mess because of our packing so he rescheduled for this afternoon. Dan apologized for the Glitch because the other manager thought we were leaving in sixty days where we had actually give ninety-five days notice and he had planned on waiting a few weeks before showing our apartment.
Kathy doesn’t like anyone to see even a speck of dust in our apartment so she immediately went into a panic cleaning mode. With some of the medication she is on their side effects are that they may cause extreme hyper tension. Needless to say our packing went to the back burner but when the young family came to look over our apartment as a possible future home there wasn’t any dust to be found. This was nearly as stressful as when we sold our homes the only difference was we didn’t have to leave.
Minutes after they had left Kathy and I were again busy going through things in the storage room. We managed a few piles of STUFF to donate, give away and things to keep. By 4:00 when the rain had changed to a light drizzle we had filled the truck with more boxes and containers and were on our way to Guardian Storage to make another deposit of belongings to keep in our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. I reassembled a shelving unit that only an hour earlier I’d disassembled at our apartment. This is definitely a puzzle that will take time to put together so we can always find what we want and when we want it.
Hopefully tomorrow we’ll hear that our apartment had been rented so that we can continue packing up undisturbed. That will make getting ready for our Fulltiming Adventure so much easier. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
