Slow Start To The Celebration.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Shortly after 3:00 this morning the sound of pouring rain on our roof was suddenly thundering throughout the trailer. Minutes later it changed to occasional showers. After having been awaken so abruptly the soothing repetitive sound of rain soon lulled us back to sleep. Throughout the rest of the night into the early morning that would be the sound we would continue hearing. Even through the time we had our breakfast the wind would whip sporadic waves of water against the trailer. There definitely was no need to worry about watering the grass or plants this morning.
As the sky began to clear the wind kept blowing.
We even had our flag out celebrating Canada Day.
The temperature remained in the lower 60’s well into the mid-afternoon before the heavy cloud cover and high winds would start to let the sun make a showing. Since arriving at the park over two months ago this was the first time that the weather had actually stopped us from being outside so we finished chores on the computers.
Close to 2:00 Kathy suggested going for a bicycle ride around the park. We managed to ride our Tandem Bike up every street in the park having the same results as always. It seems people don’t expect to see two people riding together on a bike. The wind was blowing so hard against us that it was impossible to use anything above second gear. It has been a while since our last ride but we are not that far out of shape.

Since it was Canada Day the park residents decided to celebrate in style by holding their own Canada Golf Cart Parade. They traveled every road of the park as well making certain everyone was in the appropriate mood. Not only did that put everyone in the park in the mood the sky also started to clear and the winds toned down a bit but just not enough to grill supper tonight. Kathy made a lovely Spaghetti and Meat Balls for supper.
Spaghetti and Meatballs with Watermelon for dessert.
According to the local news report the weather will only improve for the remainder of this long weekend which will definitely help us to enjoy the outdoor life. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. Must be the week for severe weather. Here near the Jersey shore, we had major storms yesterday too.
