Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.
Last night both Kathy and I had a cup of the Celestial
Sleepy-time Tea about a half hour
before going to bed but we should have done it earlier. Due to the fact that we’d
also had a heavier meal than we’ve been becoming used to we still had a problem
getting to sleep. However when we did fall asleep a bomb could have gone off
next to the building and we wouldn’t have heard it.
I had mentioned in last night’s post that I would probably
be heading to the trailer to give it a good washing. Well that didn’t happen as
there were other pressing chores calling my name. I needed to install the new
license sticker on the truck’s front plate. However I used clear plate covers
to protect the plates as well as keeping them bug-free. When I went to remove
the front one to install the sticker it had been shattered probably from a
rock. I knew that I had slipped on the rear bumper and cracked the rear one as
well so I needed to replace them. I looked at the car and decided to add covers
on it as well.
I discussed going to Canadian Tire to
get replacement covers with Kathy in case she needed anything. She chose to
take a break from her gift wrapping so she could come with me. We had to match
a color to co-ordinate another gift. We went to Walmart first so we could match
the gift color. While Kathy was comparing different things I walked over to the
automotive section and found four license plate covers that said Made in Canada
so I didn’t need to go to Canadian Tire. Kathy also stopped in the
grocery section to get extra salad fixings to help us get back on our reduction
schedule.
Back at the apartment Kathy dug back in to getting as much
of her wrapping completed as possible. I went back to mounting the plate covers
only to find that I’d need to notch the edges where the factory mounting
bracket attached to the plate. Attempting to do that with a utility knife
proved futile. The plastic used in these covers just would not whittle away.
After I grilled some Chicken Kabobs to go with the Sautéed Spinach
and Salad that Kathy made for supper we watched the news while having supper.
We headed back to the storage yard to put some things in the trailer and to get
my rotary tool to fix the covers. While we were there the sky got really dark and
the sound of distant thunder was heard but we only had to use the wipers for a
few minutes. We made another stop at the Dollar Store to
pick up more wrapping aids.
A comment from Karen about last night’s pictures. She knew we
were home but the pictures looked like Key West and
she was right. Most bloggers that take pictures don’t post them all. They also
don’t have a camera everywhere they go or the subject matter isn’t that
interesting. Now you use the unused pictures and when you look back at the blog
it makes you feel like you are there. That is what many readers do. They travel
in their mind’s eye by looking at the pictures we post. Besides if we hadn’t
had to return to do our tax returns we might still be there.
Kathy and I would like to wish all the Mothers and families reading
this blog a Happy Mother’s Day. Thanks for following along and feel free to
leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
