Happy Mother’s Day and Redesigning Again.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

When we had the Celestial Sleepy-time Tea the other night it felt that we rested more than we slept that night. It must have been one of those time release drinks because we’ve had a hard time keeping our eyes open in the evenings and we’ve been sleeping solid since.

After having breakfast this morning and reading our usual morning blogs we got ready to go to the trailer. Back in February I had modified the nook in our front closet and added a shelf for Kathy’s tops. We noticed that the shelves were deeper than they needed to be and after traveling on some seriously bad roads we’d find the removable shelves on the floor. We discussed how I would modify it to better work for us.
The shelf will be modified.
The rear of the closet has to be rebuilt.

After opening the slides Kathy emptied the closet so I could remove the shelf to modify it. Imagine our shock when I found most of my work destroyed due to the bad roads we’d traveled on. The screws that I had installed had been ripped completely through the plywood. By the time we left the trailer it was nearly 1:00 so we stopped at Taco Bell and each had a Chicken Quesadilla and pop for lunch. No fries today.

Back at the apartment Kathy went back to wrapping the last of the gifts we have on hand so if anyone comes over nothing can be seen other than wrapped gifts. I laid the shelving unit on the carpet and proceeded to disassemble it removing all but four locking cams that will be reused. After applying masking tape where the cuts will be made I reloaded all the pieces into the truck. Kathy had completed all the wrapping leaving no gifts open to curious eyes.
These are all the gifts Kathy has wrapped so far.
While I was making myself more presentable Kathy returned to the computer where she found a number of Happy Mother’s Day Wishes for her online. The phone was also ringing with the customary verbal greetings as well.

Since this was Mothers Day we had planned on going out for supper. Our first choice was to stop at Swiss Chalet but when we walked in to find it packed and a waiting line going out the door we went over to Kelsey’s. It’d been a while since we were there so after waiting ten minutes just to order our beverages we shared a Bruschetta that was tasty but dripping with Balsamic Vinegar. We chose a Grilled Chicken Salad trying to eat lighter but it too was dripping with Balsamic Vinegar to the point of making it difficult to enjoy the meal.

After getting in the car to come home I looked in the rear view mirror to see our daughter Karen and grandson Tyler walking towards the car. Greg was taking her and the family for supper and they had just arrived at Kelsey’s. After exchanging Mother’s Day wishes both ways we said we would see them later. Hopefully they didn’t order the same things we did. Good to their word they came over for a short visit around 9:00. We talked of our upcoming trip and things that have to be done before we go.

Again we hope that everyone had a Happy Mother’s Day. Tomorrow we have appointments but we’ll also try to continue getting ready for our next adventure that starts in eleven days. Then again every day is an adventure for us. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
