Busy Running Around Ft. Myers

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, U.S.A.

After spending the night tossing and turning with the anticipation that I mostly experience before a travel day we both managed to be out of bed by 7:30 this morning. We didn’t rush while we had breakfast and watched the local weather channel. We were fortunate enough that the temperatures would not be overly warm but nowhere as cold as it was yesterday. After dressing for cooler weather we were leaving the park by 9:00 this morning.

Against the objections of Tom our GPS I turned in the opposite direction from what he wanted. Our first stop of the day was for fuel at the Shell station just a mile east of the park. I hadn’t realized that the last time I had fueled the truck we were still in Georgia and we had since driven nearly 600 miles and over 400 of those miles were towing our trailer. Thankfully with the constant dropping of fuel prices filling up was a lot easier to take.

Tom was very happy when we started following his instructions on how to get to the nearest Camping World. If you recall I called to preorder today’s purchases that we planned on making. When we arrived just after 10:00 and I explained the call-in they didn’t have any idea what we were talking about. The manager got involved and double checked that my call had been taken by a clerk in the overflow calling center. (I don’t know if that really happened or they were shooting me a line.) Once the manager found the called in order he assigned an associate to gather the order while we looked around for a breathable mat that we hadn’t put on the list. Within ten minutes our order was assembled minus the Fantastic Fan that we wanted. If the order had been processed yesterday we would have had our fan but it was sold just before closing yesterday. Since we’ll be in the area for the next couple of months they will call us when it comes in and hold it until we pick it up.
Kathy found some books she hadn't read yet.
Our next stop was Fleamasters Flea Market which was only a few miles away. We had been walking for over an hour and I had already brought some purchases back to the truck when Kathy suggested we have a snack but when I told her it was nearly 1:00 we chose to have lunch. Since Kathy has some food allergies she chose something safe like Bacon Cheese Fries and a pop. My order was a pop and Trashcan Fries. They were the same as Kathy’s but were also smothered with Jalapeno peppers. We were both stuffed trying to eat them all and luckily we still had plenty of walking to do before getting back to the truck. We bought the last of our purchases which was fruit and continued our walk back to the truck to wear some of our lunch off.

Back on the road Tom directed us nearly through the entirety of Fort Myers to the Harbor Freight. While we were driving through Crystal River last Friday we had stopped at their Harbor Freight and I had purchased a cargo carrier for the back of the trailer. On Sunday I did some measuring and found out it wouldn’t work the way I wanted. I walked in with the box unopened and the receipt in hand and they were more than happy to refund me for it.
Our fifth stop was at Big Lots where I was hoping to replace our dying patio lights there. Unfortunately they still had Christmas stock on their shelves and hadn’t brought out the summer stock yet so we might come back looking for them.

Heading back in the direction of camp we stopped at the Winn Dixie in LaBelle to restock things we’ve used and a few things for our freezer. By the time we got home the sun was starting to set and we still had some unpacking to do. For supper we had a coffee and a sandwich because we were still full from our lunch.

Tomorrow I am going to get some exercising in and then I have to try to make use of these purchases we made for the trailer today. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
