Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, U.S.A.
As tired as we were when we went to bed last night I managed
to toss and turn most of the night until I finally just got up and started
reading the blogs before 6:00 this morning. The fact that I had opened all the
blinds in the rear of the trailer didn’t help to brighten the inside of the
trailer because of the heavy cloud covering outside. Finally around 8:30 I just
started making breakfast and as soon as the kettle clicked off Kathy sat right
up in bed. That noise seems to be like an alarm to her but she needed her sleep
and when I’m not having a restful night neither is she.
While Kathy did her morning reading I freshened up the bed
and got dressed to work outside. When we’d gotten home last evening Elaine had
left a message that Rick had gotten the front stabilizers installed on their
trailer and was probably going to do the rear ones today. Kathy and I decided to walk over and check it
out but as soon as we stepped outside we reached for our coats. It may have
been 59 F (15 C) outside but with the blowing north wind it felt much colder
than that.
We visited inside their trailer enjoying warm coffees. Rick
and I spoke of the stabilizers and other technical things while Elaine and
Kathy talked about the craft show being held at the clubhouse tomorrow amongst
other things. Of course we also got our puppy fix as we also visited with
Tucker and Lily.
It was definitely a hot soup day back at the trailer for
lunch. As we were eating the sun finally broke through the clouds to start
warming the day. Once we finished eating it wasn’t long before we were on our
way to Labelle. We had a 2:00 appointment to get the oil and filter change on
the truck at the local Ford dealership. We arrived a little early and they were
running a little behind but we were finished by 3:00. The best part was it cost
much less than it does back in Canada and they didn’t change my tire pressure like
the dealership back home does.
Since we needed groceries we drove around the block to the Winn Dixie. There were a number of things that we needed that were buy one get one free so that really helped save us some cash. By the time we got through the checkout our lunch was well worn off but we didn’t want to eat out. What we did is we had a picnic in the front seat of the truck where we ate the fried chicken we’d just purchased from their Deli counter. Our meal was more than satisfying and cheaper than even going to a fast food joint.
Once everything was unloaded and put away in the trailer Kathy
told me to work on whatever I wanted so I managed to get the Screen Door Grill
installed but they didn’t supply enough screws. We finished the evening just sitting
outside talking and watching the goings on at other site. Our biggest laugh is
when someone visiting a site on a golf cart asks a dog if he wants to go for a
ride just how fast the dog is sitting on the seat waiting for his ride. It was
time to go in as soon as the mosquitoes started biting.
Kathy and I would like to welcome Snickjack as our latest
follower. She does have a blog titled Missouri Gal but unfortunately there is
no URL and my attempts to find it so far has not been successful. If she can
correct that situation we’ll try to give her a shout-out so everyone else can follow
her as well.
We’ll be running the heater tonight as the temperature will
be dropping into the mid-forties tonight. Thanks for following along and feel
free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Yep. Florida cold is much colder than other places. LOL
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sky! Our days are warm here in Tucson, but the nights get down in the 40's...brrrrr
ReplyDeleteWith those "cold" temps you're having in Florida, I'd be asking for my money back. ;c)
