Cooler Laidback Day.

Our Location today is Old Town, Florida.

Just after Kathy and I lay down to sleep last night we heard the familiar sound of a heavy rain falling on the roof of the trailer. Even with the rain we continued to be gently rocked by the wind but nothing like what we had experienced earlier and definitely nothing compared to the people of Georgia and Tennessee that were struck with Tornadoes.
Suwannee River with no whitecaps today.
When we woke this morning the temperature was down under 50 F (10 C) but everything was calm. Park workers were out and about gathering leaves and moss that had been blown from the taller trees. With breakfast completed we did our morning walk around the park again looking over sites that might suit our needs for future visits and saw that there was no damage visible due to yesterday’s high winds. One thing that was very noticeable was that everyone around here was wearing long pants, coats and some tukes today compared to yesterday’s shorts and sandals.

Cher from the blog DayDreamer asked if we had seen the reviews on Tripadvisor about the Yellow Jacket RV Park and if we had any of the issues that were noted there. Kathy has read those reviews and assures me that we have not experience any problems even remotely similar to those written about. She also figures that the reviews might have been written by weekend campers who tend to be more into making it known that they are in the neighborhood in their own way. This is not a large park but it is a hidden gem and we really like it. Kathy gives it an 8 ½ out of 10 which is pretty good. We know that it may not be what everyone wants in a park but for us it is very nice.
Oversized box that needed to fit the bubble wrapped package.
This afternoon Kathy bubble wrapped a special package and needed a box just the right size to protect it. Having been unable to find one she asked me if I could make one for her. Starting with a larger box it took about an hour and now she literally has a box that was made to keep her package safe.
Reworked box that's a perfect fit.
In yesterday’s post Kathy and I welcomed Curt Lowry as our latest follower but unfortunately there was no blogger information to pass along for a shout-out. Strangely other people were able to see his information on our blog but we couldn’t. Lucky for us Curt also read yesterday’s post and corrected his profile as well as sending us the information. Curt is from the blog Illinois Camper and he and his wife are in the planning stages of joining the ranks of RV Fulltimers in the not too distant future.
We also have another new follower today to thank for following arress from the blog JeepinGeos. Arress seems to be more into Jeeping and Geocaching but is interested in reading about the RV Lifestyle. Again thanks to both of you for following along.
I never knew a tree could have teeth to protect it's branches.
Since the weather is supposed to dip below the freezing mark tonight and we are pulling out in the morning we decided to disconnect not only our freshwater hoses this afternoon but also our drain lines. This takes away any worries of frozen water lines and will be much less work packing up in the morning. Needless to say we are not as cold as our kids are back home in Ontario but we’ll  still be running the furnace and putting the heavy comforter on the bed tonight.
Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
