Vendors and Visiting.

Our Location today is Tampa, Florida.

Last night while Kathy and I were gone to McDonalds to have supper and post a few catch up posts we had visitors. Elaine and Rick Cochrane from E & R’s Travels had stopped by to say hello. Being the good detectives they are after reading our Tuesday blog they started looking out for us. When they decided to come over to visit the truck was suddenly gone but our sign on the front of the trailer confirmed they were at the right trailer so they left their calling card.
Comedian Rik Roberts
We attended the nightly rally entertainment and laughed up a storm when comedian Rik Roberts (yes that is the correct spelling) kept everyone in stitches.
Mark was volunteered to help Rik in a musical duo.
After trying to meet up with them since arriving here at the Tampa RV Show and Rally we finally got the chance to meet them this morning. Would you believe they were parked in the same row of trailers only six rigs away.
Rick and Elaine researching the nearest Verizon Store for us.
They immediately invited us in to their home on wheels and we all started talking as if we had known each other for years. When we said where we had been the night before they started telling us how they were set up with the Verizon MiFi. They had also noted that Rick Doyle from Rick & Paulette’s RV Travels also used a similar set up. They explained how as Canadians we could attain this service that would end our Internet problems while traveling in the US.

After visiting for nearly over hour Kathy and I left with a special goal in mind and special instructions. The first thing we needed to do was locate a Verizon outlet which surprisingly was a slight challenge. Using our GPS to locate the nearest locations brought us to two empty buildings. The third location proved to be successful and armed with the questions Elaine and Rick had given us we found what we needed. They had also told us to bring our laptops so Verizon could set it all up for us being that we are both technologically challenged. Everything was working great after numerous checks on both machines.

As soon as we set it up in the trailer nothing would work. After more attempts on our part I walked over to ask Elaine and Rick what we might have done incorrectly. They both scrambled over to our trailer to try to get us online. Everything they tried had the same effect as we had gotten. Using our phone Elaine spent over an hour with tech support trying to get this working. End result the computer with Windows XP connected for about a hour and the Windows 7 would not connect at all. The prognosis from Rick is that the MiFi could have an overheating problem so back to Verizon in the morning.
Ron even has a guitar that looks like an RV Trailer.
Kathy and I attended the entertainment at the Exhibition building tonight where husband and wife team Ron and Kay Rivoli sang of life as RVers that had people cheering them on. They also sang of the more serious side of things that life throws our way and tributes to those who have and are serving in the military.
Lilly striking a pose for the camera.
Tucker not sure of those strangers.
Heading back to our trailer we again stopped and talked with Elaine and Rick for another hour before saying Good Night. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
