Short Drive to a New Location.

Our Location today is Alachua, Florida.

Yesterday we had barely posted our blog when we went to bed. It seems that all the planning and preparing for this trip had taken its toll on us and we both just had to crash early.

This morning we slept until after 8:00 and still seemed to be dragging. After breakfast and a quick glance at our E-mail and morning blogs it was time to start packing. I packed the computers away then headed to do the bedroom securing our CPAPs while Kathy closed up the kitchen and stored the toiletries.
Still at Travelers RV Campground.
While closing down the outside utilities I also added some fresh water to the tank for the first time since we left home. It didn’t take long and we were on the road by 10:30.
Hawks were everywhere over the park.
Deciding on having a light meal for lunch by 11:15 we stopped at Cracker Barrel. Luckily they had lots of open parking spaces along their lot because it seems people driving compact cars don’t know what RV Parking means and they park in the middle straddling the line using up two spots. Having a relaxing second breakfast seemed to hit the spot and killed some time as well.

Continuing on our way we took our time getting to Rock Crusher RV Canyon Campground near Crystal River, Florida. We lucked out because we had no reservations and got a 50 amp. full hook up spot for a week. The map was easy to follow and we were backed in and hooking up in less than five minutes. It took an additional thirty minutes before we had everything leveled, the slides out and the interior set up. In that time the temperature had climbed above 85 and Kathy was considering putting on the Air Conditioner because of the high humidity.

Our entire trip today was only 83 sunny miles and we’ll be here a week before moving on to the Tampa RV Show. This will also give me a chance to better organize the basement and do a few other chores.

Last Friday when we said good-bye to the kids our son Kevin said that it would be strange for us not to be there for our weekly Wednesday night visits. On weeks that we have had to reschedule to a different night it messes up his routine. Every Wednesday night after we’d leave he knew it was time to put out the garbage and when we visited another night he forgot a few times. So Kevin here’s a reminder go put out the garbage.

I’m still struggling with uploading pictures to the blog. George and Suzie from the blog Awesome Travels recently had problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 not being compatible and that is what I’m presently running. I attempted downloading the Firefox explorer unsuccessfully today and I can’t write the blog on this computer running Google Chrome.

I’ll try finding a local computer shop tomorrow so I can bring this problem to an end. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
