A Day to Ourselves

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Kathy and I are really getting tired of this and are ready to get the heck out of here. Seriously neither of us seem to sleep properly when we are in the apartment. When we are travelling in our trailer we sleep like logs. Like I said we can’t wait to get the heck out of here on our next adventure in 14 days and we are looking forward to it.

This morning after breakfast we sat for a short while reading blogs and getting a few more things completed for our upcoming trips.
Twenty-Two ducklings and Two Duck in this brood.
After lunch Kathy and I did something that we don’t do too often. We went to see a movie. Tuesday Matinees are greatly discounted and if you have a Scene card it gives you even more of a discount. We saw Hope Springs with Merle Streepe and Tommy Lee Jones. They did a fantastic job portraying a couple who after years of marriage had lost the spark in their relationship. I have personally seen this happen to many couples and suggest young and old to see this movie. It will make you want to laugh, cry and think, it is very entertaining.
After the movie was over we decided to mall walk and do some looking for ideas for Christmas gifts since it is only 125 days left until Christmas Day. Have you started your shopping yet? We also got a chance to do some people watching and since this is still summer time there were lots of people to watch. The mall was very busy for a week night.
Around 5:00 we decided it was time to head for home by way of the E.C. Row Expessway. As we approached the Lauzon Parkway cutoff brake lights started appearing. Police were ahead detouring traffic. It took us another half an hour to get home.
While we were having our supper the phone rang. It was Vera asking if we would like a few tomatoes and peppers from their garden as they had way too many and they’d drop them off. Of course we accepted.
We waited downstairs for our friends to arrive and were amazed that the traffic was still bumper to bumper in front of the apartment. That was when another tenant in the building informed us the accident on the Expressway had been a Fatality and the traffic was still being detoured away from the scene.
Poor Vera and Bill were caught up in that traffic jam and it had taken over an hour to get to our apartment. We invited them up but they declined because they hadn’t had their supper yet. So after a brief talk they left with a promise to come back for a visit in September when we return from our next adventure.
After many Thanks for the Tomatoes and Peppers they headed for home and Kathy was already planning on sharing some of this gift with family as well as planning different meals to make. Be Safe and Enjoy! Thanks for following our adventures.

  1. Maybe your sleeping habits are directing you to a different lifestyle, more time on the road.

  2. Nice looking tomatoes and peppers. Christmas? Yikes - that's the first mention I think I've read this year.

  3. We have been fulltime for over six years now and always sleep great in our Rv no matter where we are. Maybe spend more time travelling and less time in the apartment.

  4. Can Meryl Streep make a bad movie? Well, she did make Mamma Mia, but she was her usual great professional self then, too.
