Recovery Day Outing

Our Location Today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Even after taking the day to heal yesterday I still woke this morning to a lesser pain than I went to bed with. This has turned into a hard reminder for myself about the importance of keeping fit but also to start slow and gradually increase the workouts.

Since it has been years since we used a drip coffee maker we decided to experiment with our new one we purchased for the trailer. Nobody likes a weak or overly strong cup of coffee so we want to get it right before we use it for guests. This unit is different as it can be used to make a full 10 cup pot or 2 travel sized cups or even a single travel cup. It is also different that the Carafe ( pot ) is made of Insulated Stainless Steel and so are the travel mugs which is a major reason we bought it. Everyone knows how smooth the roads we travel are. With the stainless Carafe we don't have to worry about opening the cupboard door to find it broken like we would if it had been made of glass.

We headed out to do some store walking this afternoon at Walmart. The walking helped my legs recover but I started feeling the pain starting to return once we had walked nearly an hour.

Karen our daughter had called this morning saying Greg, our son-in-law had made up more Spicy Chicken Rice and had made some for me. Greg does a great job on a lot of the dishes he cooks and he knows that I like it with a bit of heat. On our way home from Walmart we stopped off for a short visit and to pick up the rice.

From there we came home where Kathy had started the slow cooker this morning making Barbequed Chicken Wings. After cooking some Asparagus, heating the Spicy Chicken Rice served with the Barbequed Chichen Wings it was a fantastic meal. You did a great job as usual Greg.

Getting back to the Thank You's to our followers that I have overlooked. We'll start tonight's Thank you with Elaine and Rick Cochrane from E & R's Travels who share advice in our comments as well as their travels and experiences. Thank you Randy and Pam Warner from The Roadrunner Chronicles manage to share their enjoyment of traveling around the country and still volunteering work for Habitat For Humanity. Thank you goes out to John and Ellen Vine from Connected To The Vine Photography. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, well there is little reading but feast your eyes on the pictures. Thanks goes out to newlyweds April and Steve from Happily Hitched who are starting out life together in a travel trailer that they had a few problems with in the snowy cold of Winter. Next we'd like to Thank Mike and Dee from Gone RVing! who are a couple who started life in a different part of this world who relocated to Canada have since retired and are sharing their RV experiences with us. Finally tonight we'd like to Thank Jim and Linda Emrys from The Wanderings of Emrys for sharing their travels from the view of their RV.

Many days that we read other peoples blogs and see pictures of their travels the urge to be out on the road starts to get bad. I guess another term for that is called Hitch-itch and for many of us we are just waiting to ease on down the road. Fortunately we can start getting ready for that on the first day of spring which is now only 45 days away. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

Krackers

Why do birds fly south for the winter?

Because it's too far to walk!

  2. Thanks for the mention. Yes, we still have to pinch ourselves every time we cross into a new State or province. Who woulda thunk it possible that we would have the privilege of living this lifestyle, having left Southern Africa 23 years ago with nothing more than 4 suitcases and 2 teenagers. It is a dream come true!

  3. Our built in coffee pot in Therapy has an insulated stainless steel carafe and I LOVE it. It keeps the coffee hot for a long time - and of course, it doesn't break (don't ask me how I know this!). I bet you're going to love yours. I like the idea of being able to make just one travel mug full.
