Well I counted my chickens before they were hatched, thinking that one good night’s sleep would lead to another. Even though I would fall back to sleep within minutes, I probably woke more than a Dozen times throughout the night. Don’t forget, when I have a rough night, Kathy’s sleep is affected as well.
We were up minutes after 8:00, settling for a Muffin and Yogurt Cup for breakfast. Though the Sun was shining outside, the Temperatures were in the Teens (-7 C) so with our Coffees at the Computers we talked about what we needed to get done before Christmas.
After catching up on our Blog reading it was time to get busy and the first thing was an early lunch. Since it’s been over a Week, because we’ve been trying to keep Kathy’s Blood Sugar Levels down (7.1 Av.), we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza with extra Olives and Mozzarella Cheese.
Knowing
that we’ll be busy this week, we had to do our Laundry. I
was nearly finished sorting it, when our Friends Gerry and
Sandy called. We both had our phones on speaker but the girls just
listen to us comparing notes. Exactly a year ago, Gerry had the same
Surgery that I did and had his
One Year Follow-Up this past week. What his Surgeon told him,
was not to do any Exercise but simply use Hot
and Cold Compresses on his Hip. Like my Surgeon,
they seem to forget that we still need to maintain the rest of our
bodies. The Therapist I saw over Thirty Years ago, told
me I would have to exercise for the rest of my life, even if it’s
light workouts once a week. We also talked about future trips in our
RVs. Time will tell and we all know that as much as we love
the Lifestyle, there comes a day when everyone hangs up the
keys.
Though there were some clothes in a couple of Dryers when we got to the Second Floor Laundry Room, we never saw anyone. Once our clothes were locked away in the Washers, we headed back to the Apartment.
Looking out our Balcony Door at the Ganatchio Trail, everyone was bundled up wearing Winter Coats, Gloves and Toques, to stay warm. Only fitting since we are now officially in the Winter Season. Hoping Spring comes around just as fast.
Once
everything was folded and put away, I started prepping for supper.
I’m still experimenting with different foods, while not Wasting
anything we already have. I was blanching Roma Tomatoes while
cutting the rosettes off the Broccoli branch. After the
Broccoli was sauteing and the Tomatoes simmering, I
chopped a fair sized block of Cheddar Cheese to add to the
mix. With Black Pepper and Basil for added seasoning it
was enough to satisfy our appetites and tasted good. (No Garlic
Juice was added this time.)
After the Dishes were cleaned up we watched another Hallmark Christmas Movie. “Tis the Season” and it makes us smile.
