Our Location today is McGregor,
Ontario, Canada.
With the cold blowing Wind that we were having yesterday and
the lack of Dicor Sealer I wasn’t
able to replace our broken Skylight Lens.
I was very happy that when I checked the plastic bag I’d taped to the roof that
it was still in place. That may seem like idle chatter to some but when the
rain started pounding on the trailer at 7:00 this morning I was once again
happy that no water was coming into our shower from the roof.
Since I was awake I started
getting things ready for breakfast and packing away a few of our things in preparation
of getting on the road. Sensing my absence and hearing the rain on the roof
soon had Kathy making her way downstairs. As we were eating we watched as the RV Techs and Staff started coming through the gate. There went our quiet calm as
trailers were being shuffled around by the tractor.
By the time we had finished
securing everything inside our trailer for travel we were happy to see that the
rain had stopped. Since we needed to speak with Stephanie before we pulled out I
used their ladder once again to verify that the plastic bag and tape had kept
the rain out and was still in place. After asking a few more questions about
the warranty work and settling up on the Skylight and Dicor we were pulling out
of Leisure
Trailer Sales yard by 9:45.
We finally arrived at Wildwood Golf
and RV Park around 10:15. Stopping
at the office Joe and Val were happy to see us and welcomed us back. Since their
season doesn’t open until the first of May we want to be certain they knew we
were early. They just told us to get set up and come back in the next couple of
weeks to settle.
One thing we have heard since
our return from a lot of local people has been about all the rain this area has
gotten in the last month. With only a twelve foot wide street running in front
of our site and backing a forty foot trailer into our site isn’t easy under
normal conditions. When the trailer stared leaving tracks on our crushed stone
pad it stopped turning the way we needed but instead started plowing the ground.
I had to make extra adjustments to get it sitting perfectly by the patio but left
more tracks in the Grass opposite our site then I preferred. With the trailer
sitting level we unhitched and figured we’d finish setting up when we got back.
Stopping at the office I notified Val of the Soft Ground Damage that I plan to
repair. Under dry ground conditions that wouldn’t have happen.
Using my cell phone Kathy called
ahead to say we were running behind. We arrived at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s Home in Amherstburg shortly after 11:00. We haven’t
seen them since October and really missed our weekly visits. Since they are
getting ready to leave on a visit to Mexico themselves we had planned to only have
an hour visit. Having been away so long our stay turned into a two hour visit.
Melissa served us cake that
she had made and we appreciated that. As we were leaving their house we started
feeling lightheaded from not eating lunch so we stopped at McDonalds for a Sweet Chili Wrap after 1:00. It did the
trick as we were both feeling better by the time we got Home.
We finished leveling the
trailer and getting our utilities hooked up before we started trying to fix the
tire tracks in the soft grass. When I opened the Shed to look for our Tamper it
wasn’t there. A lot of things were taking place just before we left to go south
in November so Kathy suggested I call Kevin to see if we had dropped it off
there. When I called Kevin checked his Shed
and found that I had dropped it off with him.
We closed up and headed back
to Kevin and Melissa’s in Amherstburg. They had just taken a break and
were happy to see us back. We wished them Safe
Travels and told them to Enjoy their
trip.
We drove to Dollarama
to get a few necessities that we had forgotten to do earlier this afternoon.
When they didn’t have the Hard-Shelled Glass
Cases we drove over to Dollar Tree where
we lucked out on those. It was nearly 6:00 so we stopped at Little Caesars and got a Medium
Hawaiian Pizza to go.
At 6:30 we enjoyed our
pizza sitting in our Home. By 7:00 I decided to double check to see
if the Plastic Bag was still on the
roof since the forecast is for more rain in the morning. It didn’t survive the
9.1-mile drive to the Park so I found a tarp and pieces of wood to
hold it on until the morning rain passes.
While Kathy continued
setting things up inside the trailer I managed to get about Sixty Percent of the Soft Ground Damage tamped back down
before I was too tired to continue.
Kathy and I would like to
wish all our readers and their families a Happy Easter. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
