Our Location today is Lakeshore,
Ontario, Canada.
By the time we got to bed
last night we were both chilled to the bone. Instead of sitting at the table
wearing our hoodies and shivering uncontrollably we ran the Electric Fireplace in order to take the
dampness out of the air. If we unexpectedly stuck any part of our bodies out
from under the covers during the night, the harsh chill had us immediately
covering back up.
Even with my back bothering
me by 7:00 this morning I convinced it that I needed more sleep and stayed
covered over for another hour. The first thing after getting in the living room
was to restart the Electric Fireplace
and run the Furnace through a single cycle just so that I wasn’t seeing my
breath while getting things ready for breakfast.
Since we were told not to
use our long slide it is fortunate that I have a long reach and was able to put
the Water Kettle on the stove while
reaching over top of our island. Kathy seemed to sense the chill disappearing from
the air and soon joined me to have breakfast which consisted of a hot cup of Coffee/Tea and hot Cereal as a way of warming us from the inside out.
It was strange waking up to
only the noise of cars passing on the expressway. Since Holy Friday is considered a Holiday
many places give their employees the day off. With no activity taking place in
the yard we were able to relax a bit longer without feeling rushed. We started
out getting our Canadian Cell Phones
and Cordless House Phones charged up
so we could use them. In the past we had kept them charged while we were away
and it cost us on Roaming Fees
because they would start locating Cell
Towers. Now we wait until we get back in Ontario and we have no problems
and no charges. We spent extra time reading but we are having problems.

As you noted there were No Pictures in last night’s Blog. We are presently still using our Verizon MiFi
that we got while we were in Yuma Arizona. The plan we are on allows us to
use it in the U.S.A.,
Canada
and Mexico
but what Verizon
doesn’t tell you is how SSllloooowwwww
it becomes when you cross those borders. It takes up to five minutes just to
get onto our Blog then an additional
five minutes for each blog we try to read and we are lucky if we see a single
picture on those Blogs. Once we are
settled back at Wildwood
Golf and RV Park and are
connected onto our Unlimited Cable WiFi
I’ll have to go back and add the pictures I had planned on using in the first
place.
After bundling up against
the cold wind I used an Extension Ladder
that was leaned against the building to verify that the plastic bag I’d applied
yesterday over the broken Skylight was
still in place. The temperature was still only 41 F (5 C) at noon so as soon I was
back inside we had some nice hot soup to warm us up.

Kathy cleaned the dishes
while I changed my clothes. By 1:00 we were on our way to visit with our friend
Kathie who we haven’t seen since October. Were we surprised when we walked into
her apartment. She had completely repainted the place, replaced most of the
furniture to match her tastes and she has a new Furkid to keep her company. Since we were gone before Rollie came
into Kathie’s life he was very suspicious of us and protective of her. By the
time we were ready to leave he had been bring his toys over to us to play with
him. Kathie did show me a few things on her furniture that were broken to see
if they are repairable. With some tools and an imagination anything is
repairable.
It was already 5:00 when we
started heading back for Home and since this is Good Friday we decided to stop at the Michigan Diner on Manning Road for
Fish and Chips because they make the best ones in the area. The parking lot
was packed so when I saw people leaving I sent Kathy inside to get a table
while I parked. It was just as packed inside but we were immediately seated.
After ordering our meals the couple next to us that were waiting for their bill
started talking to us. When we asked about their winter they questioned why we
were asking. When we told them we had just returned from Arizona and we were Fulltime RVers their response was that’s
what they have wanted to do and the last of their kids had just moved out of
their house. We think we might be seeing more Future Fulltimers the way things are going.Rollie wondering what I'm doing with that camera. |
The Sun was trying to get through the clouds. |
Back Home while Kathy did a few
chores inside I prepped the Truck for
towing, filled our Fresh Water Tank
and stored our Water Hoses and Filters. Hopefully we’ll be leaving
here early tomorrow because we have some more visiting to do. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
