Solar Panels Delivered And Big Savings.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We may not have had the fresh air that we have when sleeping with the windows open but at least we had some peace and quiet. We weren’t listening to the wind rattling the windows or the ear piercing whistle that it had done through the early hours of Friday morning. Being well rested I was once again up before 7:00 this morning and had managed to finish my morning reading before Kathy got up just before 8:00.

After finishing breakfast we worked on a number of things together and one in particular was trying to redeem our Rewards Points that I had written about last month. At that time their website would not even allow us access to our account so I sent off a letter but never received any communication back in return. Earlier this week Kathy tried to access the account and low and behold she got in. Today we tried for nearly two hours to set up what we wanted to redeem our points on unsuccessfully. Now we are back to trying to make another phone call on Monday morning.

Once we’d eaten lunch I loaded the solar panels one at a time into the truck while Kathy finished making her grocery shopping list. The temperature barely broke the 52 F (11 C) mark this afternoon and with winds gusting well over 30 mph (50 km) there were no plans to installing the solar panels today. When we reached Guardian Storage we saw there had been lots of rain yesterday morning as the ground was still very muddy around the trailer. Once we had the trailer open it didn’t take long to lay the panels on our bed for safe keeping until the weather allows me to install them on the roof.

We made a few more stops looking for a support system that would help to set the solar panels on an angle for a more optimum battery charging. When I described what I was looking for at Home Depot I thought the associate was going to fall over the way his eyes started rolling. At Princess Auto they didn’t have any support systems like I needed but they did have aluminum material that I can use to make very efficient supports. Too bad I didn’t think of these supports last week when the material was on sale.

Armed with our shopping list we went to Zehrs grocery store on Manning Road. Kathy made certain to only get what we needed for a week in the fruits and vegetables due to the fact that everything seems to spoil way too fast. However when we started getting things like canned soup and other items on our list it seemed like they were all on sale. My back was starting to give me trouble by the time we were checking out but when I heard Kathy tell me we’d saved over a hundred dollars from everything on sale that helped to ease the pain

Tonight’s forecast is for the temperature to be at the freezing mark. We’ll definitely be closing the windows tonight and cuddling under our new bedcover. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I am sure it will be nice having Solar Panels to charge the batteries. They are not something we have invested in yet. Being able to set them up yourself must certainly be a savings.
Saving over $100 at the grocery store now that is a good day. Stay warm.
