Energizing Day.

Our Location today is Sugar Loaf Key, Florida, USA.

This morning I was back on schedule waking up before 7:30 even though I’d tossed and turned with a leg cramp most of the night. Kathy was just as bad after having read Travels With Emma before going to bed she dreamed of snakes most of the night but she still was out of bed by 8:30.
Do you see the Blimp high in the sky?
Is that any better?
During breakfast we spoke of going for a bicycle ride this morning because we both needed the exercise and I was hoping it might work the cramp out of my leg. We still took the time to do our morning reading and did a few quick chores before heading out around 10:30.

The sky was mostly clear and we barely had a 6 mph breeze from the north. We headed back on the bike trail that follows along the highway and after crossing the bridge to Cudjoe Key we were actually making good time. With Kathy and I being able to do more bicycle riding since we arrived in the Keys we’re building our leg muscles and endurance plus with less wind we were able to travel in a higher gear.

Finally when we arrived at Cut Throat Road we turned west to explore a different road we’d never seen. The direction we took was again another subdivision where most of the homes were built to withstand high storm surges. Many of those homes also had enough space for multiple vehicles including large RVs to park on the property but all those homes had their own docks on a canal where their personal watercraft were all moored. It was a much shorter ride than when we’d gone down Blimp Road so in hardly any time we were ready to cross the highway again.

After crossing we rode over to Venture Out Resort. We’d forgot to call ahead and found out that Karen and Al had gone to Key West for Al’s Physical Therapy on his shoulder. We continued our ride up to the bridge at Kemp Channel before turning around. Today it seemed that the wind increased slightly and was hitting as a headwind on our return. We still managed to get back to the trailer in fairly good time.

We didn’t have lunch until after 1:00 because we needed to cool down from our ride. After lunch Kathy did some reading while I went outside. I took the time to dump both our Grey Tanks before getting into my workout routine with the weights. By having done our Cardio workout this morning I managed to complete all three sets of reps of my workout with little difficulty.
Kathy exercising in the pool.
When I’d completed my workout I talked Kathy in to going to the pool for a swim early so we could attend the Entertainment at the KOA Pub this evening. We managed to work more of the kinks out of our bodies by exercising ourselves in the water. We also watched some people who would gather as groups talking about partying along one side of the pool while on the other side were young families enjoying their time together.
Iguana on the fence behind our trailer this afternoon silhouetted on our window.
After getting our swimwear hung on our back bumper mounted close line I grilled some Spare ribs that Kathy had marinated on the Weber. She also made a great three bean salad and a nice pasta side dish. We were more than satisfied after eating all that.

We arrived at the Pub shortly after 7:00 and the band Haywire was just getting started. Kathy and I have just been attending some of these night outs in the last week and we like our music but we weren’t ready for the Hard Rock Music this band was playing. We finished our drinks and after a half hour we retreated to the beach to sit and people watch until the bugs came out. Sitting here writing this blog post our hearing is still trying to recover as the sound level of the band is pulsing through our trailer at this moment. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
