Visiting, Wiring and Campfire Gathering.

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, U.S.A.

I was once again sitting at my computer watching the sun rise from behind a low lying cloud this morning. It was only minutes later that Kathy joined me in the back room but for a different reason. I had slept very soundly and felt well rested while Kathy had a toss and turn night that yielded her very little rest.
Park security about 500 feet away
Watching the local Weather Channel while we had breakfast showed that this would be a perfect day to accomplish anything that needed to be done outside. Since the temperature was still a bit on the cool side as soon as breakfast was finished we took the time to finish our morning reading on the computers.
Stan and Marion heading back to Goderich, Ontario tomorrow.
Dressed to start working outside I suggested to Kathy that we go visit Stan and Marion before they left today. She told me to ride over to see if they were still there so that’s what I did. As time passed she realized I was probably talking to them so she followed on her bicycle. They had changed their departure date and wouldn’t be leaving until tomorrow so Kathy got to exchange contact information with Marion while Stan was picking my brain about the technical side of RVing. They only bought their twenty-four foot Citation 5th wheel last fall and are just learning things about it. We probably talked for more than an hour before Kathy and I extended an invitation to them to come over for a campfire at our trailer this evening.
See the Dragon in the cloud?
We rode our bicycles down to the marina before circling back up Indian Hills Road circling around the outside of the park. Back at the trailer it was nearly lunch time so Kathy started making that while I rode over to Rick and Elaine’s to pass along the campfire invitation to them as well.

Once lunch was complete I began emptying our basement placing our containers into our shed. I needed to do that so I could remove the rear basement wall in order to run the wiring that we’d picked up the other day to wire our Fantastic Fan. After I’d removed the basement wall I then started opening the bottom skin of the trailer again for the purpose of running those same wires between the frame rails and our holding tanks. Using an electrical fish I was able to pull a string from the basement all the way to the wire spool under our oven. By the time Kathy called me for supper I had the wire run to directly behind the power panel and the other end coiled behind the refrigerator.

I had the bottom skin all refastened to keep out unwanted guests and the firepit set up before the sun went down. Kathy and I spent the first half hour alone swatting the mosquitoes because the wind suddenly died down. Stan showed up but Marion had a bad headache and sunburn from being in the sun too much today so she didn’t make it. It was nearly 7:00 before Rick, Elaine, Lily and Tucker arrived to enjoy the fire. It didn’t matter that they were just introduced to Stan it was like they had known him forever but of course that’s what RVers do isn’t it. By 9:00 everyone had said their goodbyes and headed home because even though the temperature was comfortable the north wind suddenly felt very cold.
Cresent Moon Tonight.
With all the fresh air we had today I don’t think we’ll have a problem sleeping. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. That is quite a job you have started. I didn't know it would be so involved.

That fire looks so inviting. Awesome photo of the moon.

  2. One of the reasons we like Arizona is there's no mosquitoes. I enjoyed the crescent moon last night too and you got a great pic. You have a vivid imagination seeing a dragon in those clouds but yeah if I squint a bit I see it. LOL

  3. You enjoy those mosquitoes? hmm none here or in the south west, just dry air warm days cold nights, oh yeah and the dust, but at least its not damp.
