Talk to Me.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After attending an evening hockey game that our grandson Tyler’s team was playing last night we had no problems sleeping. The only problem we did have was waking up this morning which was probably due to the 41 F (5 C) temperatures trying to make us hibernate. We took our time eating breakfast and even spent some time reading on the computers but the truck was loaded and we were on our way before 10:00 this morning.

Our first stop was Walmart where Kathy was unsuccessful at finding another container she needed to finish organizing the storage room. I was equally unsuccessful in finding brackets I want to add to the frame I made for Kathy’s global map.

From there we went to the storage yard where we were slightly delayed getting in because they were working on the controller for the electric access gate. We were there to pick up the trailer to bring for servicing. Kathy found the last of the towels that need to be cleaned while I opened the low point drains under the trailer and faucets as well as the hot water tank to empty any fresh water that we had on board. While we were doing that the wind continued to blow a biting wind making Kathy rush back to the warmth of the truck.
Dumping the waste tanks.
Once we were all secured and the trailer locked in place the first place we went to was the Windsor Campground to empty out our grey and black tanks. It only cost $10.00 and I was surprised at how much waste we were carrying and it’s a good thing we chose to do it this week because they are closing for the season on Sunday.

We had no issues with traffic and within forty minutes we arrived at Sun Parlour Trailers in Amherstburg. Kathy and I decided that with the exchange on the dollar being so high and trying to minimize our time crossing the border so it wouldn’t cut into our time down south we’d have it serviced in Canada this year.

Going inside we found Rob and Cathy both in an agitated state. A dear friend of theirs had stopped in to say hello and suddenly started bleeding heavily from the mouth. Then she started convulsing blood so they simply called 911. The ambulance had just left before we got there and Cathy was in near hysteria. Kathy spoke to Cathy and got her calmed down while Rob went outside to move a few trailers so I could park our Avalanche where they could easily work on it. It was nearly 1:00 by the time Cathy was doing better.

When we left we needed to eat lunch so we stopped at McDonald’s to have a quick bite. I was trying to get to our son Kevin’s so I could use the table saw before our grandson Cameron got home from school because of his sensitive hearing. Unfortunately he already was home but Kevin said to do what I needed and Cameron would wear his special headphones for the fifteen minutes of work that I had to do. Kevin was upset that Cameron was home and why so again Kathy was there to listen and advise him while I worked outside.
I made the piece on the right so it will match the trailer's decore.
It was after 4:30 when Kathy and I left to go to Maria’s restaurant for supper. By 5:00 we were looking around Canadian Tire to see if we could find what we didn’t this morning. With no luck there we stopped at their local Walmart where Kathy found her container.

Back at Kevin’s for our Wednesday Evening visit Melissa was very upset with Cameron and then what had happen at work didn’t help. Once again Kathy was there to listen and advise and soon Melissa was feeling more like herself. After nearly an hour our visit was back to our normal cheerful visits we have every week.

On the way home Kathy said she was supposed to be there for everyone to talk to today. As the saying goes “Everything happens for a reason”! Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I hate a biting cold wind!

God has given Kathy a special gift for listening and helping. Glad she has accepted her gift and uses it to the best of her ability.

  2. Being a good listener is a skill many, many people do not possess. All the people whose paths you crossed today felt much better having had Kathy there to "help" by listening.
