Heating Up.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Though the Alarm was not set last night, when I saw the time this morning, I knew it was time to get moving. Kathy was a little resistant when I first opened the Bedroom Blinds, then pulled the Bedding off her face.

After having a breakfast snack, then checking the forecast for the day, we were soon out the door. Just like yesterday, the Northerly Breeze between our building and the adjacent one was comfortable, but as soon as we stepped out of the shade, we knew it was going to be a Hot Day.

After maneuvering the continuing Construction Detours, we finally arrived at Advanced Rehabilitation Center (ARC) with only minutes to spare. The place was packed with new patients and a reduced staffing. All the Summer Trainees, from the Local Medical Schools had been released. Besides getting training and necessary hours, they also become Vacation Replacements while the regular staff got some much-needed time off. This was my first time I saw the Physiotherapist since my Shoulder Injection Twelve Days ago. There was no discomfort like the last time and the Therapy was an improvement.

Just like the new routine that we have established, we Planned on having Brunch at the Backroad Cafe. As we approached, we were surprised to see the parking lot completely void of any vehicles. It wasn’t until we stopped in front of the building that we saw the notice on the door. We didn’t have to go read it, because we had seen it Two Weeks ago and forgot. This was the first time in years, that they had closed down for a Two Week Vacation. They have earned that privilege.

That was good for them, but we had to find Plan B. We stopped at Arby’s for something different for lunch. It had been a couple months since our last stop here. Taking advantage of their Two for Five Dollar Menu, we were quite satisfied by our choices. Even Wanda had missed our eating there and talking with her.

Having taken Spare Ribs out of the Freezer before we left this morning, we knew that we didn’t have to do any grocery shopping today.

Since Kathy doesn’t do well with the Heat, I dropped her off at the front entrance to our building. As I have mentioned many times before, having worked over Thirty Years in the Casting Plants where the temperature was often close to 150 F (65.6 C), this was very comfortable for me. When I finally checked “The Weather Network” on my Computer, it showed our Humidex was 100 F (38 C). Good thing we had the Air Conditioner on.

It was close to 7:00 when we enjoyed those Honey Garlic Spareribs, with Sauteed Potato Slices and Peppers for supper. Dessert was simply Frozen Juice Bars.

We later watched a couple episodes of “Forensic Files” before watching the “11 o’clock Local News”. Looks like we are back to scorching temperatures for at least another week.

A big advantage of not grocery shopping today, is that we’ll get out of the Apartment tomorrow and get more walking exercise in.
