Cold Night, Fueling Up and Relaxing Evening.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We were both in bed before midnight last night and didn’t get up until after 8:00 this morning but neither of us slept well. Kathy preceded me by Fifteen Minutes and turned the Blinds opposite the direction that keeps light from entering the bedroom. We also had the Vertical Fan blowing air into the bedroom to keep us cool on warm nights. Last night was not one of those and we both spent most of the night shivering under the sheets.
I had things ready for breakfast and was already on the Computer when Kathy joined me. We had Muffins to eat and a hot beverage at the Computers. Looking down at people walking on the Ganatchio Trail below there was nobody without a jacket.
While our second hot cup was boiling I managed to get my morning chores finished before returning to the Computer. We discussed the lower Fuel and Gas Prices we saw yesterday and thought that it would be wise to top off both vehicles before it goes up again. Like many others we’ve gotten nearly a Month on a tank of Gas and Two Months or more on a tank of Diesel.
For lunch I made Split Pea with Ham Soup along with our Tea while Kathy put together dessert plates that included Oranges, Pecan Tarts and Yogurt Cups. We cleaned up the Dishes and Kitchen before heading out the door.

We took the Truck first giving us time just to get out of the Apartment. We stopped at the Pioneer gas station where Diesel had finally dropped to .959 cents per Litre. The Plan was to bring the Truck back to the building and take the Car to get that filled as well. Being a newer Diesel we were a Mile from home when the Regen kicked in. The only thing we could do was go for a ride. Even though we were not doing Highway Speed watching to avoid stopping and accelerating too much the Regen was cleaning the Diesel Particulate Filter. A Twenty Minute city drive is the same as a Five Minute highway run.
Notice the Flag on the left barely wavering.
Once the Truck was parked we simply got in the Car and returned to the Pioneer gas station where Gas had dropped to .995 cents per Litre. We can only hope these prices stay this low for a while.
Kathy thought I was behind her.
Notice the directional arrows on the floor.
People still ignore them.
Rather then head straight home we stopped at the east end Walmart. We were there mainly to walk but we also remembered a few things from our Shopping List that were not available at the grocery store yesterday. Since these are now just coming back on the shelves at Walmart we purchased Two of each so if there is another shutdown we’ll survive.
Back at the Apartment we were able to carry the few purchases we made without a Shopping Cart. Around 5:00 Kathy cook up some Egg Noodles to go with the Pepper Steak we made this week. It was just as tasty and there’s more for another meal. Kathy also made Frozen Yogurt Sundaes over Blueberries for dessert.
We were able to watch the 6 o’clock Local News without it being preempted this evening. Looks like Fall is getting an early start this year. We watched a Hallmark Movie that we hadn’t yet seen before having some quiet time.

We aren’t running the Fan tonight so we should sleep better. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. The supply chain is weird sometimes. We have had full shelves of everything except soup.

  2. Love Hallmark movies, even though you always know the ending :0 Good idea to gas us while it's cheap! Grab a few things while you can!

  3. Its been 30C here the last few days and we had the fan running into the bedroom also. Left it off last night but kept the window open, but that was tooooo cold. Tomorrow the rains begin.

  4. Thank you for reminding me that I need to fill up as well before the prices rise. While people do wear masks here they do not respect the arrow signs at the stores.

That sundae sure does look good!

  5. P.S. I also decided to relax by watching a Hallmark movie. I do not recall the title but it was about a lady that ran a boot camp for brides and that surprisingly I had not seen before.
