The Case Of The Lost Blog, The Heat Is Back, Staining Shelves and Birthday Wishes.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Seconds after posting our Blog last night I noticed a spelling mistake had been made under the picture of Kathy working on the Flagstone yesterday. That was an easy fix which only took seconds to do and then I simply hit Update. Viewing the Blog once more I was in shock that the entire entry was blank. Having already cleaned up my draft meant having to start writing the Post from the first stroke of the keys again. Over an hour later I was able to repost the Blog as an Update. The same thing happened the first year we started Blogging. We had set up some safeties so that it wouldn’t do it again but since the onset of Windows 10 that hasn’t been necessary. I think it’s time to do them again.
This little guy loves eating the grass on our Site.
With going to bed later then the norm it meant that we also slept later this morning. By the time we finished breakfast and started our morning reading on the Computers the Humidity level was really building. Before we finished our morning reading we had to turn on the Air Conditioner. Then I slowly started closing the windows with the lowest ones being the first and then working our way upstairs and finishing with the Roof Vents. By doing that gives the A.C. time to start getting cooled down and the warmth rises out the Roof Vents before they are closed. This made for a quick and easy transition without trapping heat inside the trailer.

I then called my sister Anna in London where I left a message to wish her a Happy Birthday and that I’d call back this evening.
Chicken Stir Fry.
I went outside and gathered a few tools for the purpose of an inside chore but by the time I returned Kathy had already heated up the Chicken Stir Fry she made for lunch yesterday. It tasted just as good today and the vegetables were still very crisp.

Back outside I got the Plywood Panels I had cut at our son Kevin’s over a month ago out of the basement. They needed to have notches so they’ll properly fit the kitchen cupboards they’ll be installed in. This is where I noticed that somehow when making the list of pieces that were needed for this project I managed to miss two small panels for Kathy’s Bookshelves. We’ll have to wait until September before I can cut those now.

I was even feeling the 93 F (34 C) Humidex so instead of using the Handsaw I decided to use the Jigsaw to save my energy. I then took the Picnic Table Umbrella down and covered the table with a Plastic Tarp in preparation of staining the panels. I needed a short break at that point to cool down in the Air-Conditioned Trailer. Taking just long enough to feel comfortable I didn’t stay in long. It was so hot outside the stain nearly dried on contact so I was able to stain the panels on both sides.
Future Cupboard Shelving.
By the time I got things put away in an effort to avoid Avian Bombardment. It seems that dark surfaces tend to attract this type of recourse here in the park.

Since we are just over a week away from taking our Home in for Warranty Service Kathy has been carefully using up as many things as possible that we have saved in our Freezer. For our supper this evening she cooked a couple of personal sized Beef Steak Pot Pies in the Microwave to go with the Caesar Salad and Pineapple Slice she had for sides. We think we’ll stick with the Chicken in the future because the meat in tonight’s pies was Extra Chewy

We had just finished watching the 6 o’clock News when My Sister Anna called me. She had been quite busy on the phone today and figured it was easier for her to call instead of our reaching the Answering System again. She’s doing well and continues reading our Blog to know what we are up to. She wished us Luck on our repairs and I wished her a Happy Birthday.

I’m hoping to get a number of things completed this week before we have to bring the trailer in for service. At that point we’ll be out of our Home for at least a week and considering that we are only 94 days away from our Southwest departure there are still a lot of things on our To-Do List yet to accomplish. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I just hate it when the blog disappears. It takes me hours to remember all the things I said the first time around!! LOL Now sometimes I copy and past it to my desktop, just in case.
