Long Day, More Work Than Expected and Back Where We’re Comfortable.

Our Location today is Dome Rock BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

After getting up at 5:30 this morning to bring our trailer to an authorized Jayco Service Dealership we didn’t think we’d be where we are. We were on the road by 6:30 only to crawl through the Phoenix rush-hour traffic. When the GPS brought us to the address we had been given it turned out to be a out of business corner store. Going online Kathy quickly found another dealer with the same Phone Number we had been given. That thirty mile trip took three hours to finally reach our destination.

We’ve been having issues with one of our slides and I thought that it could be as simple as the Controller. We spent most of the day in their lounge so their only technician that works on slides could look at it. It was disappointing to hear that the slide will have to be removed in order to fix it properly. The worst part is we’ll have to be out of our trailer for over a week. We have some thinking to do over that.

We stopped at the Mesa Walmart to buy groceries we were running low on. After cashing out we stopped at Customer Service to see if we could spend the night. There response was we could but we shouldn’t be surprised if we got a parking ticket. Really!

We felt crowded in the entire time we were in Mesa almost caged in. As soon as we’d put our groceries away we pointed the truck westbound and thought we’d spend the night in a Truck Stop but each one we checked out was filled to capacity. Trucks that weren’t pulling trailers were filling the RV parking areas. Apparently the big storm that was bringing heavy Snow to the Flagstaff area was also responsible for the heavy rain we were getting. That was what caused most just to pull off the road for the night.

Since we couldn’t find any place to park we just headed to where we have gotten to feel Safe and Comfortable. This will give us a chance to figure out what we need to do with this slide issue. Late Night so we’ll see what happens tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

If all the world is a stage,

where is the audience sitting?

  1. I wish I could recommend a dealer for you but we have the same problem.

  2. Days like that are miserable. I hate it when things don't work right. I always have a little fear each time I push a slide button. I'm sure you will come up with a solution and the world will be right again. Good luck.

  3. With the rain yesterday after reading about your day the first thing that came to mind was the saying...when it rains it pours. At least you woke up this morning in a beautiful place with fluffy clouds floating by.

  4. Sorry to hear about the slide problem. Sometimes explaining to the service department that their easy way of fixing won't work for you might change their ways and a different solution can be found. I'm sure you'll get the problem solved. Wishing you success!
