More Accomplishments.

Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.

With another early to bed night, this morning I woke up feeling much better. When I first opened my eyes at 7:00 I was able to roll over for another hour of sleep. By then it was time to get moving and the furnace started giving us the message that it was still cool outside, but not like it is back home. We watched the Weather Network as we ate breakfast and saw today was going to reach 60 F (15.5 C) today so I knew I needed to get motivated.
As Kathy started her morning reading I made the bed and got dressed before starting my reading. When I started my reading it was her turn to get changed with her own set of chores being planned. Just as I was about to shut down my computer there was a knock on our door.
Our neighbor Val who lives in Grand Bend, Ontario was having trouble with her computer and was wondering if I could help her out. Kathy and I told her to bring it over. Once she was over she explained the problem which ended up being a problem with her Internet Provider from back in Ontario. They didn’t suspend it while they were away as we did ours and for some reason it was not allowing her to use it outside its home region.
This squirrel always sits on this table to eat. He does have manners.
I explained what we have learned in the last year about having a G-mail account for E-mail so that it didn’t matter who her provider was she could still communicate with everyone back home. I helped her set up her own G-mail and had it almost finished twice when the computer would close the program. It was her wireless mouse that also had side buttons on it that we were accidentally touching with our thumbs that was causing the problem. I borrowed the wireless mouse off my computer and after the two minute loading of new hardware we were able to create Val’s new G-mail account in two minutes. She also didn’t have an Internet Shortcut on her laptop so I set that up for her as well. After Kathy gave her our home phone number so we can keep in touch later when we get back home. We were glad we could help her out.
For lunch Kathy suggested we have hotdogs so I fired up the Weber Q while Kathy made up some nice Bacon and Beans for a side.
After lunch I went outside to repair one of our Static Straps on the truck. I noticed it coming off the other day before I got sick so I removed it before it got lost. The driving we did yesterday alone without it was making Kathy feel sick to her stomach so I knew I had to fix it. I also refilled our freshwater tank and reconnected our shore water supply now that it shouldn’t freeze here again until next Tuesday. I then installed the remote outlet switches that we purchased yesterday at Harbor Freight so that we can now turn our Gazebo lights and Willow tree on and off from inside the trailer and not having to worry about the bad weather.
Kathy had come outside to read while enjoying the warmth from the sun at a balmy 60 F so at 3:00 I suggested we have a fire since the last time we tried it was so cold the fire wouldn’t stay lit. Once it was going I invited our neighbors Bill and Carolyn over to share the fire. We were all enjoying the time and conversation until 4:00 when like clockwork a cold Northern breeze kicked up making it too uncomfortable to stay out. Bill noted that it was a daily occurrence and given an hour it would settle down.

I got the Weber Q going again so I could grill a couple of Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon while Kathy sautéed up some Spinach and made Macaroni and cheese for the sides. Supper was a success and everything tasted fantastic.
The best part was like Bill had said the wind died down by 5:00 and we went and sat by the fire for another hour and a half. Val and Ron stopped by for a few minutes while walking their dog before going home to make their supper. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. It's hard to believe you're in "balmy" Florida with all the cold weather. I'm sure if you were a few hundred miles farther south it might be a tad warmer.

  3. Kathy looks so comfy! told Steve about the three taps and remote. Might have to pick up a set of those. Clipped the coupon from AARP NEWSLETTER to get 25%off at Harbor Freight.
