Home Again

Our Location Today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Even though we didn't set the alarm last night it seemed strange that we were both wide awake before 7:00 this morning. We had made plans to head over to Camping World on our way home so it seemed natural that an earlier start would be to our benefit. We enjoyed our usual morning breakfast and by the time Kathy had cleaned and secured the kitchen for travel I had made the bed, secured our medical equipment and was heading out the door.

By the time the truck was ready, the tanks emptied and rinsed Kathy had closed the slides and was helping me by bringing up the rear stabilizers. Once the truck was hooked up and the last circle checks made we were leaving Elkhart Campground  on the road by 9:10 taking the back road highways of Indiana long into the state of Michigan. By noon we had just gotten onto Interstate I-94 and were starting to feel the need to stop for lunch.
In the distance the familiar sign of Cracker Barrel told us where we were stopping in short order. Strangely the area designated for RV/Bus parking caused us a slight problem. Actually about thirteen and a half feet of a problem. They had 45 foot long parking spots and we are running 58.5 feet in length. A quick look at an empty section of the rear parking lot solved that problem by just parking across eight parking spaces.
Lunch was delicious as always in a relaxing atmosphere. Shortly after 1:30 we were back on I-94 and were pulling into Camping World by 2:00 where we looked around trying to find items listed on our RV needs list. We were only able to find a few of those needs and made inquiries about other items of interest but we still helped to bolster the U.S. economy.
It wasn't until 4:03 that we were back on the highway heading for the border. Strangely our new replacement GPS tried to do the same as our last one which was insisting on us going to Toledo rather then Detriot for our way home. One thing the GPS couldn't tell us after it was turned off was that there was thirty miles of single lane traffic through a construction zone.

After stopping for fuel at the Duty-Free we cleared Canadian Customs at 5:15. We headed straight to the Guardian Storage Yard to park the trailer. We never even unloaded the trailer but headed over to Wendy's for a quick tasty supper. Once we were refreshed we headed back to the trailer and in no time had everything that needed to go to the apartment loaded in the truck.
By 7:30 everything had been put away. Now we have to finish installing all toys we bought for the trailer and clean it up before our next adventure which starts in just under 17 days. Be Safe and Enjoy!
