Busy and Gone Fishing.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

There just seems to be a big difference on how I sleep between the apartment and the trailer. In the trailer I can fall asleep earlier and be up before the sun. In the apartment I sleep soundly after finally falling asleep and Kathy is generally getting up before me since we’ve gotten back from our last trip.

Today was spent getting things tallied up and entered on the spreadsheets plus making a few adjustments to the blog. Recently we added to our sidebar a section called Companies We Personally Endorse where we introduced you to Ard's Awning, Inc. who custom makes awnings, boat covers and (for us) Storage Shed Skirts for our trailer.

Another company we wanted to endorse is J & J Sunshades, LLC in Lake Wales, Florida. They produce custom made sunshades and ground covers amongst other things. When we ordered our sunshade from them at the Tampa RV Show last year they had to order the material for our shade and they shipped it to us five days later when we were in Tarpon Springs. When we were looking for someone to make our Storage Skirt they not only recommended Ard’s but called them to verify it and called me back in Ontario. Like Ard’s who made changes that I wanted at no charge they make certain the customer is always satisfied.

After lunch Kathy and I prepped a few dishes that we’ll be bringing to our family dinner tomorrow. Once everything was packaged for transporting tomorrow we just finished cleaning up.

Since this is Good Friday in the Christian Faith we decided we’d go out for a traditional Fish and Chip dinner. Since I am a member of a local Legion (VFW) we thought it would be great to support our legion as well. Arriving shortly after 4:00 both the banquet hall and the bar area were filled with likeminded people. The wait for just a table was over an hour so we left and went to a nearby Michigan Diner with the same result.

Thinking of trying a restaurant closer to home as we were about to drive by Applebee’s we turned it to a nearly deserted parking lot. The few cars before and after our arrival were all there for the same thing Fish and Chips and it was good. It seemed everyone thought that only the legions and sea food restaurants could fill their needs for a fish dinner tonight. That’s almost like the old fish stories you used to hear when you went fishing.

On the way home we stopped at the storage yard to pick up some keys I’d left behind and to return a couple of food containers we’d brought from the trailer to the apartment the day we got home.

We also had to stop at the drug store to buy a new ice pack for Kathy. It seems that since we’ve gotten home her right knee is giving her problems.

Tomorrow we’ll be busy with our family celebration so the camera is going to be busy as well. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Sounds like you made the right choice for the fish dinner. I really dislike waiting to spend money in a restaurant:)

  2. What are you doing so far north already? We are freezing in Charleston, SC! I really am sorry to hear about your second blow-out. Make me glad that we decided to replace all 4 tires when we had our first one. Yes, we found out all about the cheap Chinese tires. Keystone does not build a very good rig at all - it has been very disappointing to us since this was/is our first rig. You sure learn a lot with the first one don't you! Stay warm.
