Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.
As soon as I saw the clock this morning I jumped out of bed not because I was late for anything but to try and get myself to wake up while the sky was still dark. It was 8:00 in the morning so this gave me a chance to prep the coffee cups and cereal bowls while looking out the open window curtains at the parking lot still lit by the security lights. By 8:30 Kathy was joining me in the dining room for breakfast.

With all the bad weather we have gotten lately and the lack of sunshine even before hurricane Sandy we have been sleeping later. By getting up early this morning will help us get up earlier and with less difficulty tomorrow because we are bringing the trailer across the international border for a morning appointment to have all our warranty work and winterizing done.

As soon as breakfast was finished Kathy started doing online banking on my computer while I readied her computer to go for the repair shop. Once Kathy was done and the computers ready to go I went online to finish paying off another one of our bills.

By 10:00 we were out the door first to drop off clothes at the Goodwill center then over to the storage yard to put things inside. Now we were finally on our way to the town of Essex bringing in three of our four computers. Kathy’s PC has been giving us problems with sound, not printing after reprogramming it numerous times and not shutting off when we try to close down. This unit we have to leave and pick up next week.

Next was her laptop that even when it was new would not hold a charge longer than twenty minutes. Even after putting a better battery in it only got worse to the point that it had to be plugged in all the time to be able to run. Both Brian and Cory suspected a bad charger so they tried charging the new battery with no success using a generic charger. So they put in the original battery and set it to charge and low and behold for the first time in five years it operated tonight for over three hours on battery power. At least they found the problem that the Future Shop who sold it to us couldn’t and wouldn’t fix.

Last was my old Dell laptop. The screen hinge fell apart on it and needed repairs. When I purchased this machine used it was old then but when our other machines couldn’t get on line the old Dell could. The problem was the resolution on the screen was so high that no matter the settings most information boxes always appeared small and I couldn’t process any pictures with it. Kathy noticed that they were having a sale on all their Windows 7 computers and thought maybe it was time to retire the old Dell. The boys will transfer all my files over from the old to the new at no charge and we’ll pick it up at the same time as Kathy’s PC.

Tonight we headed out to Amhurstburg to visit with Kevin and Melissa for our Wednesday night visit. Being that last night was Halloween and they wanted to take the boys out we switched it to tonight. While there Kevin and I were already talking of putting up their Christmas display since it is only 53 days away.

Everything in Its Place I know the fridge is packed full of stuff and lunches are everywhere, but if you move other people's lunches in order to get to yours, can you please put it back on the shelf where it was originally. Otherwise, you end up looking endlessly for your lunch like an idiot.

Good luck with all your computers in the shop. Looks like still some yucky weather there.
ReplyDeleteThe comments on your pictures today are great. They are always so interesting and it is nice to know where they were taken. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and keep dry. The rain just doesn't seem t to want to stop in southern Ontario.
