Our Location today is Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
The boys had both went to bed by 8:00 last night Tyler because he was still feeling under the weather and Matthew because he was bored without Tyler. So they were both awake by 7:00 waiting for the day’s adventure to start. Kathy is susceptible to any kind of flu, cold or virus that might be going around and was starting to feel dragged out by 10:00 she went to bed. Myself I struggled with the poor WiFi and tried for over two hours unsuccessfully to add pictures to our post so it was almost midnight before I got to bed. It was another 8:30 morning when Kathy and I woke up.
Shortly after breakfast we were on our way to the Niagara Falls Bird Aviary. We arrived by 10:00 and like the Butterfly Conservatory we had a wonderful time walking throughout the different areas and being so close to species of birds from around the world. In Matthew’s own words it was “Awesome!” Tyler always more adventuresome than his cousin went into one section and was allowed to feed nectar to one special breed that covered him from head to toe while he stood doing this chore. By the time we left it was almost noon and we had already eaten our lunch at the Aviary cafeteria; but we all had sore necks from trying to see all the birds that that were flying around there.
Our next stop was the boys most anticipated Bronto’s. This is a place that you and the kids crawl around multi-levels of netting, platforms and obstacles & have a safe version of war. You shoot Nerf sponge balls in an air powered canon at anyone on another platform who is shooting back at you. Kathy convinced me to help the boys out for awhile since there were other adults up there as well. Two things: One. I’m getting too old to be crawling through those small openings that I did. Two. It takes a lot of energy to play like that. The boys well outlasted grampa at that game.
Leaving Bronto’s almost three hours later we drove over to the Go-Kart Race Track. Three years ago when we were here with the boys Kathy and I had to drive while the boys were only passengers. Today the tables were turned and it was the boys doing all the driving and we were the passengers. This particular track has an age / size rule for being able to drive unattended and the boys haven’t quite reached that stage yet but they sure know how to drive on this type of track.
God help us when they start driving on the street they have lead feet. The problem for both Kathy and I was that the passenger side of the cart is designed for a much smaller person so we both had our right legs jammed against the steering wheels.
After we were back in the truck and driving to a restaurant we’ve been to with the boys before. It’s called the Flying Saucer Restaurant. The food is always tasty and reasonably priced with choices for all age groups and tastes.
Once back at camp the boys made a choice to go swimming and to forego the campfire because they said they were too tired. Hopefully because I’m able to get the post ready earlier tonight I might be able to post pictures with it as well.
Tomorrow we’ll be packing up and heading back to Tecumseh and bringing the boys home to their families until we take them away again next year. That also means that it is only 133 days until Christmas. Thanks for following our adventures. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
P.S. Second night of failed uploading.
I'll have to catch-up tomorrow night.
