Jackpot

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Since leaving the working world, I have reestablished what time I go to bed. That also means that my getting up in the morning has changed slightly, though that does not always balance out. Things that interfere with that are, the time you spend staring at the ceiling through the night, recovering the blankets that someone is cuddling up to, while you are freezing, or reworking a project that you did years before. All that adds up to a later starting time than you Planned. (We all know how that works out.)

Lucky for us, when we got up the outside temperature was already at 7 F, the daytime high, but the Sun was bravely trying to break through the Clouds. This was something I often recalled seeing during our stays in Quartzsite Arizona.

After a Snack and Coffee for breakfast, we managed to get caught up on our Blog reading before heading out the door at 1:30.

We were starting to be hungry, so we stopped at Tim Horton’s for lunch. Using the Gift Cards given to me at Windsor Feedscrew we enjoyed Chicken Wrap Meals. It was nice being out of the Apartment and people watching. Even though most people were properly dressed for the weather, some were wearing Shorts. Of course, they were young and have not learned the life lessons that most of us have.

When we finally headed out, we headed over to Princess Auto. I try to keep certain Electrical Connections on hand, when I have upcoming projects or travelling, and there were many of them “On Sale” today. (Actually, that term is used incorrectly. It should read “Back to actual Price”, but then who would buy it.)

Since Micheal’s is located right next door, Kathy went to see if there was anything there she absolutely needed, before joining me. I went in search of my Connections, but of course things are not always where you would think they are. Even though I was using a Shopping Cart as a Wheeled Walker, there was more walking then I wanted to do, and when you asked a store employee where things were, they pointed back to the other end of the store. When Kathy joined me, my Hip/Leg told me I was done shopping.

We stopped at Guardian Storage to collect our Mail. When Kathy came out with a handful, she was wondering what had come from Amazon. While waiting for a slow- moving Freight Train to clear the track, she was happy to see that she had hit the “Jackpot”. That’s the name of the latest book written by Former Fulltime Rver our Friend Nick Russell. Though he has written many more we only have Forty of his books so far.

Since oil prices have gone down, we stopped at Pioneer gas station to top up the Car. I even purchased a Lottery Ticket in hopes of winning our own Jackpot.

We headed straight home, and I was having trouble just walking in the building. Since we’d eaten a meal for our late lunch, it wasn’t until after the 6 o’clock Local News was over that we had Chicken Noodle Soup for supper. We could see above Freezing temperatures in a week. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Kathy’s already in bed, sleeping. I’ll join her soon.
