Changes Started and Reconnecting Just Like We Did.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

What the heck is going on with me? For years before and since my retirement I have survived on minimal amounts of sleep but now that the holidays have arrived I can’t get enough. I only recall laying awake for a Half Hour in the middle of the night and yet it was 8:00 before I woke up this morning.

As we continue to clean up the Leftovers we each had a Muffin and Coffee for breakfast this morning. We didn’t stay at the Computers very long because we had a list of things we needed to take care of. (Notice we didn’t Plan anything.)

Breakfast was wearing thin and it was nearly 11:30 when we stopped at Burger King for an early lunch. We didn’t even need coupons because this was Whopper Wednesday. With Kathy’s dwindling appetite and my increased appetite since I started this job, showed we ordered just the right amount of food.

Before the Coronavirus hit in 2020 we used to get Reminder Calls when it was time to pick up our CPAP Supplies from Vital-Aire. That was our first stop today. It’s been some time since they moved to this new location so I was surprised to see mounds of boxes piled around the office. It appeared that Taira was weary doing the mundane chores of filling out forms and making appointments, so I simply asked how her family had enjoyed Christmas. That had her beaming as described the happiness her children shared. I booked an appointment to have my CPAP Machine adjusted. That’s when I found out there is a world shortage of CPAP Machines. Strange how more people are becoming dependent on Machines to keep them breathing at night.

Our next stop was to Guardian Storage to pick up our Mail. A parcel had just been delivered that we had hoped to receive before Christmas but its delivery had been delayed due to Severe Weather Conditions. Better late than never.

From the Office we drove back to our Trailer where Kathy had some questions she needed answered. Once I explained the changes we’ll make, it eased her concerns and she relaxed. With that out of the way we started lining the Cupboards with Non-Slip Materials so our Dishes and Appliances won’t be sliding around as we drive down the road. After using up what we had, we measured how much more we will need before putting a pause on that job.

We also examined all the Lights to see how many had LED Bulbs. If you go “Off the Grid” the one thing you want to do is preserve your Battery Power and Incandescent Bulbs use a lot of power.

Even though the temperature was above Freezing the Thirty MPH Wind Gusts made it feel colder. We stopped at the nearby Tim Horton’s for a Hot Coffee to warm up. We were just about to enjoy that warming sensation when Larry and Nicole came in for Coffee and Sandwiches to go. They were our neighbours when we were Fulltiming at Wildwood Golf and RV Park. When Coronavirus hit they had to find an Apartment just like we did. With rising costs they sold their large Fifth Wheel just like we did and are thinking of getting something smaller for travelling just like we did. We’ll be talking again soon. After we felt warmer we finally headed for home.

Back at the Apartment I got on the Computer to find the LED Lights we need for the Trailer. It didn’t take very long to find what I needed and the cost is less then what we paid for Two LED Bulbs Eleven Years ago. I also did some research on Charge Controllers but that can wait until Next Year.

It was after the 6 o’clock Local News was over that we decided to have supper. We had a Veggie Omelette along with a slice of Tuxedo Cake for dessert. Just like the last time using only Four Eggs the Omelette fell apart.

With warmer temperatures forecasted for tomorrow I am hoping to make progress on the Storage Unit. (Notice I didn’t say Plan.)

  1. Are you going to put the good batteries in or stay with the lead acid? Good luck with the new trailer.
We're supposed to get a little rain.

  2. LED lights are a sensible thing to get if you don't have them already throughout the trailer and also for the rear/break lights. Good thing that they came down in price. Should be fun to do all the changes on the trailer to get it ready for travel and your liking.

  3. We have quite a few solar charge LED lights around the house. They reside on a south facing windowsill until we need them. VERY practical.
