French Toast, Searching Our Unit, Sounded Like A Gunshot and Cooler Days To Come.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Last night Kathy had a hard time falling asleep again but when she finally drifted off slept right until this morning. As soon as I lay down I only remember turning over once then waking up at 7:30. After opening the Balcony Door I knew that it was going to be a beautiful day.
Kathy mentioned the other day that she’d like something different for breakfast so I started getting things ready. Kathy truly enjoyed her French Toast this morning. Having extra Egg Dip to use after I had my breakfast going I cooked up another Toast but Kathy insisted I enjoy it by myself.
Kathy likes Ketchup on her French Toast.
I like mine with Butter and Syrup.
We moved to the Computers with our Coffee/Tea but didn’t stay there long. After getting our chores done we were heading out the door by 10:30.

The first thing we did when we arrived at Guardian Storage was to check our Mail. Carol informed me they would be back to normal hours next week. We then headed back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. With the temperature supposedly to feel like the Century Mark today we appreciated being inside this Air Conditioned Building.

We mentioned in yesterday’s Blog that we had a list of things we needed for the Apartment but the problem was we would have to hunt for them. When we added everything from our Trailer along with things from our former apartment in this Unit things had to be stacked. We had plans to donate lots of the things we no longer need but then the Coronavirus closed everything down.

We went through quite a few Storage Bins slowly finding what we were looking for then crossing them off our List. One thing we had on our List was our Tower Fan. I had barely moved anything when I located it right against the Back Wall. There was a lot of things that needed to be moved just to get it out. It was nearly 1:00 when we had everything we had gone for this time loaded in the Car.

We were both feeling Lite-Headed from hunger by this time and we had planned on doing more shopping before heading home. We went through the Drive-Thru at Taco Bell to get lunch since we couldn’t eat inside. We won’t be eating out too often without Coupons in the future. $$$$

We parked over by Dollarama to eat our Crunchwraps while we watched the line of shoppers that wasn’t moving Social Distance outside waiting to get in. After Ten Minutes we were the first to join the line. Perfect timing because there were another Twenty People that soon joined the line behind us. With the temperatures feeling like they had reached the high it took Fifteen Minutes before we got inside.

Our shopping was for things like Bread, Buns, Manwich and other food stocks that were cheaper here then going to the grocery store. When it came time to pay I asked the clerk to put our bottles of Carbonated Juice in separate bags. Instead he put them all in the same one. As I was putting them onto the floor in the Car one Bottle slipped out. When it hit the asphalt it sounded like a Gunshot sending glass shards all over the place. Using another bag we picked up as much glass as we could. Next time I won’t take the bag packed like that.
About Thirty People waiting in the hot Sun for Booze.
We drove by the Grocery Store as well as the Liquor Store that had lines longer then Dollarama. I’ll get groceries later this week when it’s cooler.
At the Apartment Kathy stayed at the Car while I got a Shopping Cart to help us haul everything upstairs. After cooling down a bit Kathy started making supper. She breaded a couple of Chicken Breast then fried them up. We had Niblet Corn as a side. It all tasted wonderful and we were more then satisfied.
After the 6 o’clock Local News we watched a couple of episodes of The First 48 Hours. Tomorrow is supposed to be slightly cooler but we’ll finish getting the Apartment ready for the coming Summer Temperatures. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. Ketchup on french toast is a new one on me. I love both of them but don't think I could handle them together. We're headed for 110 this week. Oh joy.

  3. Dad put a blind on the balcony to give some shade from the sun, not sure what direction you face but perhaps that could help?...

  8. I'm with several other readers...... ketchup on French Toast????? I'll stink with syrup or jam.

I found when marrying my Cajun hubby he had strange tastes (to me). Figs on fried eggs. Potato salad in Gumbo to name two.
