Kathy didn’t take any chances about not sleeping last night like the night before. After getting ready for bed she took an Extra Strength Tylenol to be certain she would relax. Having some of the Windows open also helped us to have plenty of Fresh Air while we slept.
I was up before 7:00 this morning and was surprised to see the temperature already at 59 F (15 C). Without the high Humidity or high Winds it was actually quite comfortable. Kathy slept until 8:00 before coming downstairs to join me for breakfast.
It was close to 10:00 when we were headed for Windsor. Since Kathy’s appointment wasn’t until 11:00 we made a stop at the Staples outlet on Walker Road. I needed to make Photo-Copies of some documents as a way of making them more permanent as well as saving the Ink in our Printer. When I asked the representative I was told it was Sixteen Cents a Copy along with a $3.00 Charge if they did it but if I used their Machines it was only Eleven Cents a Copy.
It’s been over Ten Years since I used that kind of machine and they have really changed. It took Ten Minutes to figure out how to use it and One Minute to make the Copies but I saved $5.00.
We stopped at the nearby Dollarama looking for a Pocket Planner for Kathy to keep track of her Battery changes for her Hearing Aids. In the past we would see them in all their stores but they had none today.

We arrived at the Arthritic Specialist with Ten Minutes to spare which gave Kathy just enough time to fill in those mandatory first visit forms. Her former Doctor would never send her to any Specialist saying she would deal with the problem but she didn’t. I’ve been dealing with my Family Doctor for nearly Thirty-Three Years and if he thinks you should see a Specialist you will be going and he gets things dealt with.

After checking Test Results On-Line that our Doctor had done as well as giving Kathy a Physical examination of her Hands, Feet, Legs and Shoulders he determined that Kathy does not have Diabetic Neuropathy but the onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He suggested that she should stop taking her medication for her shoulders and would see her in a couple of weeks.
Since it was past 12:00 when we left his office we stopped at Taco Bell where we had lunch.
From there we stopped at VitalAire where I spoke to Taryn about a problem with my CPAP Mask. When the Harness on my old Mask wore out this past winter I replaced the entire Mask. Since that time the Cushion that creates a seal to my face has been splitting. Upon closer inspection the Cushion had been redesigned with thinner material to make them more flexible on the Chin and the bridge of the Nose areas causing them to Split. She immediately E-mailed the Resmed Representative to let them know but she’ll need the Cushion to show him.
We were headed to Guardian Storage to check our Mail when had to stop at a Traffic Light along the way. That's when Three Adult Geese guided Twenty Goslings across the Intersection. Luckily traffic gave them right of way. There was no Mail in our box.
Taking the E.C. Rowe Expressway we went to the Dollar Tree not far from our Doctor’s Office. We again looked for Pocket Planners and found none.
We arrived at our Doctor’s Office a bit ahead and were told that he was running behind. I’ve mentioned before that he does not limit the number of Questions you can ask and he will answer them all unlike Kathy’s former Doctor. When we mentioned the Specialist wanted Kathy to totally stop the Medication for her shoulder pain he nixed that idea. Because Kathy has been on them for so long and the dosage she takes it will take time to ween her off. He’ll be conferring with the Specialist.

He issued Kathy Prescriptions for a new Arthritis Medication as well as a new Blood Meter. He also gave Kathy the printouts for a couple more appointments that we’ll add to our already busy schedule. After I mention having my hearing tested and having Wax build up he immediately flushed them out for me. My hearing is now better than the day I was tested. When we walked out it was Two Hours past our appointment time.
Since our Pharmacy is in Amherstburg that was where we headed. There was lots of Road Construction being done along the way. Clouds were starting to fill the sky.
When we arrived at Pharma Choice the Pharmacist Assistant started processing things while we waited. That was when the Pharmacist on duty noticed the New Medication being prescribed would react with one of Kathy’s other Meds. She’ll call our Doctor in the morning and let us know when to pick up whatever they agree upon.
We went back to Soup and Salad for supper. Today we each had a bowl of Homemade Tomato Basil Soup and a Soft Drink. We also shared a Greek Chicken Salad Wrap that left us feeling quite satisfied. The best part was that it cost less then eating at the Fast-Food outlets with Healthy Food being served.
We tried looking at the Amherstburg Dollarama for the Pocket Planners. Again there was none so we headed over to the Walmart. They didn’t have the Planners either so we spent time shopping for a Birthday Gift. When that was done we spent more time and money getting some groceries to tide us over.
Rain is falling ahead directly in line with the road.
As we drove back towards McGregor we could see Rain falling off in the distance. We were surprised that it was nearly Five Miles away.
More Rain falling in the distance.
We brought everything inside where we worked together to put it away. We had barely sat down at our Computers when we started hearing the sound of Rain on our roof. It should end by morning otherwise we might have to consider adding Pontoons under our Home. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Staples should have your planners. You may pay a little more than the dollar store though.

  2. You get to visit all the stores in town hunting for that special item. Isn't it frustrating when you just can't find what you need?

  3. It's good your doctor's are getting things taken care of. That salad wrap looks delicious!! If I could just find a good caesar dressing, I would LOVE to make those for lunch.
