Easter Monday Brunch, Lots Of Errands, Cleaning Up and Tired Out.

Our Location today is at Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We both slept like a couple of rocks again and struggled to wake ourselves from such a stupor around 8:30 this morning. In the lower level of this basement where we have set up our temporary bedroom the temperature is cooler then the rest of the house so that feels like we are in the Trailer. There is hardly any light leakage to wake us up and since the Wind is not shaking these solid walls we are sleeping in a fairly quiet room.

This morning there was no family gathered for a special meal so we set about taking care of ourselves. As soon as we had cleaned up after having a lite breakfast we gathered what we needed and headed out the door.

In the few days since our return Kathy has already gone through the Five Months of Mail that was waiting for us. The advertisements were quickly dealt with, Documents put where they are needed, Refunds placed where they can be deposited and mail to the Previous Holder of our Mail Box marked “Return to Sender”.

Our first stop this morning was the Credit Union where the Refund Cheques were deposited and we got some Hard Cash that we would need later in the day.

Our next stop was all the way out to Amherstburg but we managed to get there much too earlier so needing some particular supplies, we stopped at the local Dollarama. Some things that you can’t find in the larger stores they carry at reasonable price. Other things their quality even exceeds the larger stores but those products have returned to their shelves this year with a slightly higher price attached to them. We need temporary Bedside Lamps so are using Battery-Powered LED Reading Lights. The Water-Hose Valves that had been removed from their shelves last September were also part of our purchase today.

We headed over to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house for an Easter Monday Brunch shortly after 11:30. Melissa uses part of her yearly vacation to add extra days to our Long Weekends so she can spend more time with her boys. Since they had the day off from school she took it off from work. As always Melissa was the perfect hostess having a small spread of snacks for us to enjoy. Even though I was doing a good job I could feel my belt getting tight again. Having missed out on our Weekly Visits since we left in November we had a lot to catch up on. Before we knew it was nearly 2:00 and we had to say our Good Byes for today.

We stopped at Guardian Storage where we used the Trailer as a sorting point. By opening the slides, we managed to get a few other things we needed, then I sorted Laundry. The last time we did this we were still in Quartzsite and we’ve covered some miles as well as had a few problems. After loading everything we were soon off to a nearby Grocery Store.

We needed to pick up a few supplies for not only Laundry but Milk and Bread for our personal use while staying at our daughter’s home. We hate it when you leave for Five Months and all the stores decide it’s time to rearrange the way they stock things which takes you longer to do your shopping.

From there we headed to a nearby Laundromat to do our washing. Karen offered us the use of her Washer and Dryer but this way we managed to get Five Washers going at once. When the Bed Sheets started tangling up in the Dryers the women running the Laundry Service loaned us the use of some Tennis Balls. I had never heard of it but it stopped the Bed Sheets from tangling. Lots of that Hard Cash we got at the Credit Union this morning got used. It was past 5:30 by the time we finished folding everything and were ready to leave.

We still had another errand to do and being tired we went to Arby’s where we each had a Roast Beef Sandwich and small Soda for supper.

I wasn’t certain that I had brought in the Bedroom Slide and we had forgot to get other things to bring with us so back to Guardian Storage we got everything we needed before heading back to Tecumseh.

When we walked in Karen had been busy clearing a shelf in one of the Kitchen Cabinets and a shelf in the Garage Fridge for our personal Food Stocks. We really appreciate everything she is doing for us.

We’ll be buckling down starting tomorrow because we now have only Eight Days before we have to have our Trailer back to Leisure Trailer Sales in Lakeshore so it can be shipped back to the Jayco Factory in Middlebury Indiana. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. No wonder you and Kathy are so tired, you haven't stopped running since you crossed back into Canada. I sure hope they get your 5th wheel all fixed up and right for you. Your daughter sounds like a wonderful kid well all of your children sound great

  2. I am tired and all I did was read your post...
Those tennis balls are also nice to use to fluff up quilts and pillows when they are drying.
    Take care.

  3. Looks like you are settling in nicely. I've used tennis balls for years ... even old tennis shoes work well.

  4. You guys have it all figured out and it is only a matter of tackling those jobs. Soon even the temporary stay will become routine. Hopefully you get your trailer back when it warms up in the RV Park.
