Rough Night, A Birthday Wish, Great Movie and New Phones on A Fun Day.

Our Location today is Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

As most of you know that when you are an RVer if you make plans to do something you can expect them to change many times. I recalled checking The Weather Network before going to bed last night and seeing some fairly cool temperatures for the night being forecasted. Then there was the issue of the food we had at the restaurant last evening that just seemed to sit heavier than it should. Both Kathy and I ended up tossing the bedcovers off last night because we were just too hot. Apparently, yesterday’s temperature only dropped to 54 F (12 C) last night which was warmer than some of the days we’ve been getting. Kathy didn’t fall asleep until after 2:00 in the morning while I woke still feeling uncomfortable from the meal and would be at the computer for nearly three hours before taking the chance to go back to bed.

We scrambled out of bed shortly before 9:00 MST this morning but with the heavy cloud cover it looked like we could be in for another downcast day. As soon as we finished breakfast we sat at the computers with our coffees to catch up on our reading. Because I’d done most of my reading hours earlier it gave me the time to call our daughter Rose to wish her a Happy Birthday. It did surprise her that we were calling her all the way from Arizona but it made her day. We also discussed how the work is going on their home they purchased this past summer.

The next Phone Call was to the Credit Union in Windsor to get the banking concern straightened out that Kathy had. It was getting close to noon so we opted for a quick sandwich and a fruit before we headed out the door. We decided our projects could wait until after Christmas and we were taking a few days off to get rid of the Cabin Fever that was setting in.
We headed back to Parker not for any exploring but because they have a Movie Theater there. We haven’t been able to watch any television since we left Nashville and even though we have our New HD Antenna it hasn’t been hooked up yet because I was working on the Solar Panels on the roof. Going to see a movie would help take our minds off the Weather and the Projects we are working on.
Kathy had found a Christmas Comedy to see but when we asked for it they said yesterday was its last day. Looking at the choice of four other movies playing we decided on “Why Him?” It was rated R because of minor nudity, lots of swearing and mature subject mater. There were only a few minutes throughout the entire movie that everyone was not laughing at what was happening or being said on the screen and then just when you thought it was finished there is more after the Credits start. We both gave it Two Thumbs Up.

Leaving the Theater, we headed over to Walmart where Kathy wanted to restock our pantry so we wouldn’t have to worry about groceries until we are parked out in the LTVA. With our shopping cart only slightly filled Kathy wanted to get some walking in for exercise but as we approached the Electronics Department we stopped to check something out. We are traveling with only a single Cell Phone here in the US and if I run an errand and Kathy stays Home there is no way we can reach each other. Last night we thought we’d change that.

As we looked at the display a Retired Sherriff started telling us how he had the best luck using a Straight Talk Cell Phone. After he left we asked Alex a few questions such as roll-over minutes and monthly charges. For our particular situation, he recommended our using another TracFone. Looking at a different type of phone than we presently have because when we are stuck on hold calling someplace our arms are in agony holding the phone to our ear until the call is completed. The size of the buttons on our present phone are also small while our fingers are fat. In the end, we walked out with two new TracFones, one with our old number and minutes already transferred to as well as a new one so we can stay in touch if we are separated. Boy are these going to take some getting used to but since they are identical we can help one another.
It was after 5:00 after we checked out so we stopped across the street at Taco Bell for our Fast-Food Taco Fix. Even though we were traveling south on Highway 95 it seemed like we were chasing the sun as it began to set behind the cloud covering. When we got Home it was a mad dash to bring in our purchases and put them away.
When Kathy checked her Facebook Account, our daughter Rose had posted how good it was to get a Birthday Wish from her parents. Tomorrow is another no work day in preparation of the Christmas Celebration here at Quail Run RV Park in Quartzsite. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
