This Is Summer?

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After having a fairly quiet Canada Day mostly due to the cooler wet weather we were just as surprised when the temperature dipped down to 50 F (10 C) last night. Didn’t we just have the Summer Solstice ten days ago? Shouldn’t the temperatures be more Summer like? The temperatures have flipped flopped so much this year it’s become hard to plan on how to dress. This morning the few people we did see outside were wearing sweaters or jackets because of the low temperature.
Throughout most of the day we did minor chores inside and out. I made preparations to change the rear window in the truck while Kathy continued researching different routes for our return trip from the southwest next spring. It would have been simple to just reverse the route but then we’d be seeing most of the same scenery.
Our light lunch, Hotdog, salad with pineapple covered cottage cheese.
This evening we once again attended a Dinner/Dance at the park Clubhouse in celebration of Canada Day. The cost was less than going to a restaurant because it was catered by volunteers. It also included entertainment put on by a D.J. that kept the room hoping until it was time to head Home.

As we sat reading the evening blogs we were surprised to hear fireworks going off and the park rules are very specific about not having fireworks around the RVs. Walking out to the road by the golf course our neighbour explained it was a private home on the North Malden Road that did that every year. From the time we heard the first explosion until the last it was a continuous barrage for nearly twenty-five minutes. We watched for close to ten minutes until the mosquitoes from the water hazards started biting. When we got back to the trailer there weren’t any mosquitoes bothering us on our patio. It probably would have looked a bit odd if we’d brought our Citrosa plant with us to see the fireworks. (No Photos)

The long weekend is now half over for most people here. There are also plenty of people who have just started their summer vacations now that the children are out of school. Fortunately, now that we are Fulltimers our weekend never ends. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. LOL, this is summer in Ontario, similar to the desert in the winter.
