Everything Changed.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

After having a fairly restful night when I looked at the digital clock this morning it read 8:20 so I immediately thought that we’d slept in. Looking outside there seemed to be a lack of sunshine as I opened the curtains but just continued getting things set up to make breakfast. That was when I noticed our newest clock showing 7:40. Automatically thinking the battery had died I headed to the computer to get my morning reading started. Imagine my surprise when the opening page showed 7:41. Somehow the digital clock in our bedroom had advanced an hour and we had not slept in. Once we’d eaten breakfast the first thing I did was reset that clock.

Kathy’s first chore was making some Homemade Rice Pudding. The next thing I did was head outside to do my morning watering of the grass and flowers around our site. At the very moment I started watering the grass our neighbour Terry and his wife Linda were walking by. A simple hello would change our morning plans. They stopped in and talked with the both of us until past noon. While Kathy prepared lunch I finished watering the rest of the plants and grass.

As soon as we’d finished washing the dishes it was time to attend the first Ice Cream Social of the season. Linda and Terry were also going so we simply walked to the Park Clubhouse together to enjoy this special treat. Since we have been Fulltiming we seldom have any Ice Cream unless it is at something like this. The cost was reasonable and the portion satisfying. The servers were seasonal volunteers just trying to put smiles on other people’s faces. If there is any profit made which we doubt it will be donated to a local Food Bank. We all returned to our trailer where the conversation we were having this morning started where they left off.

Having the truck parked so close to the trailer allows us to put the trash in the bed until we are heading to the Park’s Garbage and Recycle Depot. We had accumulated a double load this time so I planned on just driving the truck over to empty the trash. That’s when I had my second surprise of the day, the truck would not start. The batteries are just over eighteen months old. They were not dead but too weak to start the truck. After using the car to boost the truck it still wouldn’t start. There wasn’t even a sound of the solenoid trying to engage the starter. Since all the truck repair shops are closed on Sundays I’ll just wait until morning to get it hauled to Windsor Gas and Diesel.

Part of the reason for clearing out the back of the truck was so I could replace the broken rear window. Kathy took advantage of the truck not moving today and started cleaning inside the front section of the cab getting rid of any smudge marks that were not there when we purchased the truck.

We were just about to make supper when our friend Pauline called. We haven’t seen her since before our move so we’ve made arrangements to get together later this week. I was grilling a couple of nice steaks on the Weber and Kathy making the sides when our daughter Karen called to say to come for an evening visit. We’ve gone for visits recently where we found only Sanford home so we tell our kids to let us know before we waste our time and fuel.
Squash, Tomato and Steak for supper.
We arrived at Karen’s home at 7:00 just as planned only to find Greg and Kylla home. Karen had gone to the store but walked in before we sat down. We had a good visit talking about a short trip they recently took. Before we left Karen was asking if I’d be able to help further change the landscaping in their front yard. Thankfully that won’t be until September so I might have our chores done by then. It’s nice to be needed.

It was a good thing all of today’s plans were written in Jello so they could easily be changed. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
