Confusing Seasons.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

This morning we both woke up feeling refreshed and fairly comfortable. No we didn’t turn the heat on. The temperature had risen slightly overnight. At least our teeth weren’t chattering. The only thing wrong was the cloudiness in the sky. The weather channel was showing a 10% chance of showers but otherwise clear until late Friday night. Just as we sat down to have our breakfast the clouds opened up and the rain came down with such intensity we couldn’t see our vehicles that were parked less than a hundred feet away. After an hour it slowed down a bit but kept raining until after lunch.
The writing is on the wall Saturday will officially be the beginning of Fall. That is what it says on the calendar. The way the temps have dropped and with the dampness in the air and the cold winds it almost feels like the start of Winter. Remember back in March of this year we had 80 + degree weather for over a week. It was still Winter but it felt like late Spring early Summer. Yes we lucked out with a mild Winter but then Summer was so hot and dry that some were calling for an early Winter.
We basically skipped Spring and now it feels like we are trying to skip Fall. We have to stop doing this or nobody is going to know what time of year it is.
After lunch we knew it was time for our weeky rituals. I headed downstairs to do the laundry while Kathy was busy cleaning the apartment. Now doesn’t that sound boring? That is strange because when we are traveling in the trailer we have to do the same thing and it feels exciting like we are doing something totally off the wall but not at home.
Many of the RVer’s blogs that we follow are already talking of getting prepared for heading south while others are slowly heading in that direction. Then there are others that can only hope to someday be part of that migratory movement.
Kathy and I will be making our first trip south this year but we are liable to see some snow first. We plan to be around until after Christmas which is 98 days away so we can celebrate the day with our grandchildren. That is a day we will not miss. So we have a few appointments that we have now booked for the beginning of the month but should be in Florida by the third week of January.
In the meantime we have a number of things that need to be taken care of and we might even get in another short trip in before the end of this season. Feel free to follow along with us. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Gotta get those chores done, and a rainy day is a good day to do it. Keep counting the days until you head south then hit the road.
