We're Back.

Our Location Today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Many people thought that we posted yesterdays blog from home but they were wrong. We were so tired after getting up early Saturday morning and then the visit at our son's with all the early Christmas excitement that we could not keep our eyes open to finish the post.  We finished it on Sunday morning and posted it then. It gave us a chance to experience posting our post while on the road, and to explore this new district our son's family is now living in.

One thing that most RVers know about traveling is that plans are flexible and if there is nothing pressing why rush. So that's what we did, we took our time. Why would we drive 4 hours in one direction part of it through a snow squall to turn around and drive another 4 hours in the dark with unknown road conditions ahead. Instead we stayed in a hotel and spent not one but two nights away like a mini vacation.

Who needs a tree house when you have a tree ship?
Outside of the town of Beamsville is the little town of Grimsby. That was where Kathy and I stayed for the weekend. This small town is a mixture of modern, retro and old world charm all melded into this community. When we stopped for lunch we found a quaint little diner on the outside but when you walked inside it was like you had been transported back to the late 50's early 60's. The food was great and reasonable. If we're ever back in the neighbourhood we know where we are going to eat.

After the day of exploring and having supper we decided to relax and use the heated pool. It felt great after you were in it but was a slow process getting there. The hot tub was much easier to take but you definitely dried off and left the pool area quickly because I think they forgot to heat the pool building.

On the way home today we stopped for lunch at Denny's located at the London, Ontario, Flying J. While eating we noted that we were ahead of schedule so we decided to make a few unannounced short visits. First we stopped to see my Aunt and Uncle. When we arrived at their seniors apartment someone leaving just held the door for us and we went straight up to their apartment. Now the surprise was on us. They weren't home, which is totally fine because they are very out going and I sure hope they never have to stick around home for someone to come to visit.

So we still had one more stop to make and that was to visit my sister. This time when we knocked on the door the surprise worked great. Part of the surprise was that my sister was one of those people that thought we had posted our blog from home. After a short but pleasant visit we were back on the road and home by 4:30 p.m. After unloading our luggage and equipment we decided to finish our trip with one more meal out.

Now it's our time to catch up on some of the blogs we've missed and enjoy more Christmas Lights.

It's about time.
