Drying Out But More Coming.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Last night ended up being on the down swing of the roller coaster ride, so I’ve been walking around all day wishing it was again Bedtime.

We weren’t in a hurry to do much since the parking lots were still covered with the droppings from the last Thunderstorm that went through the area around 6:30 this morning. When we finally sat down at our Computers the Sun started breaking through the Clouds.

I received another Scam Call this morning. After hanging up, I went to block the Phone Number but there was a problem, it was my mine. How is that possible?

There were a few things we had forgot to add to our Shopping List the other day, so we had a few stops to make. Our first stop was to Shoppers Drug Mart. Having checked my Spreadsheet I took note of which Vitamins we’d be short of when I again work on our Doucettes. Thursdays are Seniors Discount Days, where we save Twenty Percent off regularly priced items. Unfortunately, we could not take advantage of that today, because all the Vitamins I was picking up were already “On Sale” for Forty Percent off the regular price.

Next we went to nearest Dollarama to find the Breakfast Juice that they didn’t have the other day. They still didn’t have it today because their Back Order did not arrive.

There was more shopping to do and wanting something different to eat, so for supper we stopped at Arby’s. Every year when Lent starts, they serve White Fish Sandwiches until Easter. They were hot out of the Fryer and tasted great. We might be back before they are gone again.

The nearby Dollarama was in the same boat as the other outlet, so we left empty handed.

We headed to the Zehr’s grocery store to pick up other things on the list. We spent more time than necessary trying to find Malt Vinegar. It wasn’t with all the other Condiments, so we finally found it Four Aisles over, in the Pickle Aisle. We also found a couple of Breakfast Juice for $3.25 to hold us over until Dollarama has it for $1.75 for the exact same sized container.

We walked in the Apartment with just enough time to turn on the Television for the start of the 6 o’clock Local News. I continued putting things away while listening to what was being said. Our upcoming Weekend could be a washout.

We later watched “Matlock”, “Law and Order” and “The Pitt”, before watching the 11 o’clock Local News.

Words of Inspiration

The great drawback of being witty is that you have to keep your eyes fixed on the semi-idiots around you, and absorb their worthless sensations.”

Very Wet 150 and Why.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I actually felt like I had a good night’s sleep, but I think having to set the Alarm might have had something to do with both of us feeling tired most of the day.

We woke to the sound of Thunder and when the Blinds were opened, there was no light coming in to brighten our rooms. Looking down to the parking lots, was like looking down on a pond.

After enjoying a quick Snack for breakfast we headed down to the Lobby only to find the rear exit is closed for the next few days. The New Building Management Company that took over our building a few years go, are now upgrading the building’s Trash System, by installing a Compactor. We had no choice but to exit by the front entrance.

I had Kathy wait under the Front Canopy while I retrieved the Car, so she wouldn’t get so wet. I teasingly told her that I’d stay dry by running between the drops. (Those days are gone.)

There was no need to worry about any Road Construction, thanks to all the Rain. Some of the roads we took, if you were in the curbside lane, you were creating quite a Tidal Wave a you drove along.

Arriving at the Canadian Blood Services building, we were able to wait a few minutes for the Rain to ease, before making a dash for the door. Even though I had used my Phone to get a picture of the Qr-Code from my Laptop, I had to redo the Questionnaire, in house because it was too dark for their scanner to read. Whenever a donor reaches a Milestone of donations, the staff make a big deal about it. Today, I made my 150th Blood/Plasma Donation and it only took 27 Years to accomplish it.

Growing up, even though we lived in the city, my Father was teaching me to be a farmer, since that was where he grew up. He didn’t teach me things like sports. On my first day at school a teacher noticed I was just standing back, watching others play Baseball. The teacher insisted I was at bat and told me to hit the ball. When I hit it over the ditch at the end of the yard, the boy whose father was all about winning at sports, grabbed the Bat and hit me across the face, breaking my nose. It healed more internally causing me years of breathing problems.

My Mother had lots of Health Issues and need many Blood Transfusions, like other people I knew, I vowed when I could make those Donations I would. The problem was in order for me to breath, I was living on Antihistamines and that was a No-No for Blood Donors. After Thirty-Five Years of struggling to breath it was surgically repaired. Before I could make my First Donation my wife was diagnosed with Cancer, for the Second Time. She required many Transfusions, but it wasn’t until after her passing that I made my First Donation.

I’ve been to places where I did not know I could donate in our travels, and I had a few delays because of Health Issues of my own. So now that I have reached this goal, I am looking forward to reaching a higher level. Taking Vitamins and getting back to Exercising will help me fight to achieve that goal.

If anyone reading this, is in Good Health, please feel free to start donating to a very worthwhile cause. For every Donation, you could help to save up to Five Lives. “It’s in you to give” is what I told a News Reporter on Christmas Eve one year.

We checked for Mail at Guardian Storage before taking advantage of lower gasoline prices at the Pioneer gas station. We then headed to Wendy’s for lunch, before heading home. The Rain only stopped around suppertime.

We later watched “Chicago Med”, “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.”.

There are presently Severe Thunder Storms/ Tornadoes in our area. Tomorrow’s Sunshine has been replaced with more Rain, but Friday is looking more promising.

Heavy Rain Heading Our Way.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Last night didn’t quite work out the way I had hoped for. I was between my Recliner and Bed a number of times before I finally just sat in my chair. That was the best Two Hours of sleep I could ask for.

Luckily, the Sun was shining to brighten my day, but the 23 F (-5 C) temperature was not as inviting. I managed to get dressed before going to wake Kathy, because there were things we needed to do.

We started with a Muffin and Yogurt Cup for breakfast. Kathy’s Coffee made it to her Computer, while she went to get ready. My Coffee stayed next to me as I sorted the Laundry. When Kathy came out she had the Bedding with her.

Today was Laundry Day so we were lucky when we walked into the Laundry Room to find exactly Four Washers to start the task. A quick look at the Dryers, they would be available minutes after we headed for our Apartment.

We could at least sit down for the Half Hour before returning downstairs. It was kind of funny that the first Washer I had started before we went upstairs, was the last one to finish. We only needed Two Dryers to handle those four loads, before we refilled those Four Washers again.

Back in the Apartment we managed to cook and share a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Spinach Pizza with Olives for our lunch. We were back in the Laundry Room just as the Washers were finishing their cycles. Simply taking the clothes that were dry out and replaced it with the freshly washed clothes. They only needed another Three Quarters each to finish drying it all.

Working together we were heading back to the Apartment, with everything folded by 1:20. We needed to sit for a few minutes to rest our backs. With everything put away by 2:00, we again worked together to remake the bed.

There was a little problem when we sat down again, both our eyes kept trying to close.

On the 6 o’clock Local News we learned that the Carbon Tax on Gasoline and Diesel has ended, dropping the cost at the pumps. The temperature reached 41 F (5 C) today. They also warned of Heavy Rainfall tomorrow that could cause Local Flooding.

We later watched Will Trent”, “The Rookie” and “Criminal Minds”.
