Sudden Cool Down.

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, U.S.A.

When we woke up this morning we found it strange that we didn’t hear the Air Conditioning running. If you remember how I said yesterday’s temperature reached 88 F (31 C) with very low humidity making it almost unbearable. We had to concede and turned the AC on so we could even fall asleep last night. During breakfast nothing happened and I was about to check the breaker at 10:00 when it finally cycled to remove the humidity in the air.

After completing our morning reading we started getting organized for what we needed to do today. Kathy found our linen bed sheets so that I could remove the flannel sheets that had helped to keep us warm on our trip south this winter. She then had to take note of what food stocks we were running low on. Once I’d remade the bed I now had the chore of sorting the laundry and getting it organized for our first wash day since we hit the road. By the time I had the laundry packed Kathy had already made sandwiches so we could have an early lunch.

As soon as Kathy had finished eating she was out the door so she could attend the weekly farmer’s market that comes to the park during the winter months. While she was gone I loaded the laundry in the truck in preparation for driving to Clewiston. I walked over just in time for Kathy to pay for her fresh fruits and vegetables that she would normally pay twice the price for at the grocery store. As soon as we’d put her purchases away and she’d crossed those items from her list we were off.
The plan was that I would drop Kathy off at the Walmart in Clewiston so she could look for the things she had on her list and to get lots of walking exercise in. I continued on to a local Laundromat where I was able completely wash, dry and fold four large loads of laundry and get back to pick Kathy up in two hours. When I had done our laundry at the park last year it had taken nearly four hours to do less laundry and we still had to go to town for groceries. By the time I parked Kathy was already pushing her shopping cart out to the truck. We needed to stop at a couple of hardware stores before we found what Walmart didn’t have available.

By that time Kathy suggested going for a snack at a place called the Tiki Bar that she had read about. We lucked out finding it because all we knew was that it was by the water and there was not much in the way of signs pointing you in the right direction. We were too early for the dinner menu but ordering from the luncheon menu we each ordered a Catfish appetizer basket that was more than filling as a meal and at a very reasonable price.
Once we got back to the trailer there was a cold north wind blowing through the park. The first thing we did was shut the AC because the temp only hit 75 F (24 C) this afternoon and we open most of the windows. With everything put away we were starting to notice just how cool it was getting already and had to start closing windows.

I just checked the Weather Network and the Weather Bug online and they are both showing quite the cool down for the rest of the week something about an Arctic Blast of cold air from Canada. Must be our kids wanting us to know just how cold they are up there. I’m thinking we should have left the Flannel sheets on the bed a while longer. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. You have the same routine we have while at Amazon except reversed: I do the laundry while Al does the grocery shopping. Love getting two chores knocked off at the same time.
