Successful Shopping, Clean Laundry, Good Hockey.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Not being able to fall back asleep I was out of bed by 6:00 this morning. I managed to get all my morning reading completed and got things ready to make breakfast before I had to wake Kathy at 8:00. The reason for waking her was that she was going Christmas Shopping with our daughter Karen today. Yes our shopping was all wrapped by the middle of September this year but Karen trusts her mother’s judgment for gift giving ideas so that is why she asked her to go with her. It was shortly after 9:00 when they left to try and beat the crowds at the stores.

I was supposed to drive our friend Kathie to the hospital to pick up Ross who had surgery yesterday and bring him home. I called her and was told that it might not be until this afternoon because there was a bleeding problem. I gave her my cellphone number because I needed to get the laundry done today. I finally made it downstairs around 10:30 and nobody else was there. Back upstairs I checked a few things on the computer before going to change the clothes to the dryer. Returning upstairs I started heating up the Cabbage and Corned Beef Soup that we had made the other day.

While eating and watching the Weather Channel my cellphone rang. Kathie said the doctors were keeping Ross another day in hopes that the bleeding will stop. I assured her he was better off being in the hospital where they could deal with it better than if he were home.

After finishing the laundry I was in the process of putting the fresh linens on the bed when Kathy and Karen came in. With only 16 days to Christmas day they said most of the people at the stores and the mall were elbow to elbow making lots of people very miserable. (That’s why we try to avoid shopping at this time of year.)

After 8:00 tonight we were on our way to the New Belle River Arena to watch our grandson Tyler’s hockey team play. It’s been over a week since they last played and we were starting to go through withdrawal. Tyler managed to get the first goal of the night which helped to spur on his team but both teams were evenly matched tonight with the final score being tied at two each.

Tomorrow we are not quite sure what we’ll be doing but whatever it is will be interesting. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
