Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.
This morning Kathy and I were up on opposite sides of 8:00
which helped us get an early start. The Weather Channel indicated that we would
see 61 F (16 C) today but at the price of having rain throughout the day and
turning to severe storms this evening. Immediately after breakfast we were at
the computers getting caught up on our morning reading before we got ready to
head out the door.
By 10:30 we were at the Tecumseh Arena to watch our grandson
Tyler play hockey. Karen our daughter soon came in with coffees in hand from
Tim Horton’s which helped to keep us warm for the next hour of play. I
mentioned last week how Tyler’s coach chose to have him play defense so that
was where he started today and within the first ten minutes of play he scored
the first goal. Into the second period one of the opposing team hooked Tyler’s skates
causing him to fall hard on his tailbone. No matter how much the pain bothered
him he continued to play and scored another goal in the third period. At that point the coach put him back as a forward player.
We headed back to the apartment for lunch where I also
picked up a few tools before we went over to Karen’s. She applied more of her
Christmas decorations in her front yard the other evening and a couple of her
lighted spheres wouldn’t work so she asked me to fix them. I have always been
lucky at fixing them for her so she has gotten to calling it my magic touch.
Within minutes of our arrival I had both spheres working and then I programmed
her timers for her. Unfortunately I missed synchronizing them by .20 of a
second. Tyler was busy with his chores while icing a badly bruised tailbone
that was very sensitive to the touch.
With the wind starting to pick up we went back home as Kathy
is not one to be out in storms. We had finished the supper dishes and were
about to sit down to watch the 6 o’clock News because it was raining and
thundering quite hard outside when suddenly our NOAA radio’s alarm went off. It
was alerting us to severe weather with a tornado watch for our region. When the
news did come on they immediately started with the severe weather warning
before going to the next story of at least 16 tornadoes touching down in Illinois
plus storms in Indiana and Michigan.
After the news we were busy reading more blog posts telling
us of the severity and damage caused by this line of storms. Thanks for
following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Another great day and no really bad weather there, is a good thing.
