Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.
After posting our blog and watching the 11 o’clock News last
night neither Kathy nor I were tired enough to sleep so we went back to the
computers until after midnight. By doing so we hoped that would improve our
sleep quality. It did because I was only awake for an hour and a half instead
of three which of course also affects Kathy’s sleep. I was awake by 8:15 and by
the time I started the coffee Kathy was right behind me.
The Weather Channel shows that our future temperatures are
cooling with many night time and some daytime temps hanging close to the
freezing mark and the possibilities of s@#w just around the corner. Looking out
the window at the partly cloudy sky you would think it was warmer but when you
see someone’s breathe while they walk their dog from a hundred feet away you
know that it’s cold. The wind and rain we had yesterday really took the leaves
off of many trees in our neighborhood.
After breakfast we headed to the computers to do our morning
reading before I attempted to call State Farm Insurance. I repeatedly dialed
the number sent to me by E-mail and each time after it rang for five minutes I’d
try again. I then sent them a reply E-mail informing them to call me and the
problem I was having contacting them. Kathy was busy in the kitchen cooking up
a storm for meals that will keep us well fed for the next few days. She was
also listening to the radio which is already playing strictly Christmas music.
Kathy then asked for some help which I gladly did because
helping in the kitchen means some fantastic meals coming up. We enjoyed Homemade
Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch and there’s enough for another meal. I then
called our daughter Karen to inform her of a problem with one set of her
Christmas lights I installed the other day. We came up with a way to fix it so
that will be done on Saturday which is the last day in the upcoming fourteen
day forecast that is above 50 F (10 C).
Next I tried recalling State Farm Insurance and after two
rings someone answered. I explained my dilemma of this morning and they claimed
to have been in. Their delay on our claim was due to their inability to clearly
read the purchase order of the replacement tires for the trailer. Don’t you
just love bills that fade with time? After contacting Benson Tires and giving
them the work-order number Larry the manager was able to E-mail a copy of the
bill directly to State Farm. This should get things moving along on the trailer
repairs. Too bad they just didn’t call me earlier instead of waiting so long.
Hours later just before heading to have supper I decided to call State
Farm to verify that she had received the invoice from Benson Tires. They had
not so I recalled Larry who checked his E-mail to see it had been kicked back.
I had him forward it to me and he stayed on the line until I verified that I had
gotten it. Next I forward it myself to State Farm then I recalled them to
verify it was there. When I was told it was there and they could read it I breathed
a sigh of relief.
Kathy continued cooking and baking this afternoon only
stopping before supper. She said it is her way of cleaning some of the food out
the fridge and freezer before we go south for the winter. I think I’m going to
start increasing my exercising real soon. Thanks for following along and feel
free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

An impressive post, I just gave this to a colleague who is doing a little analysis on adventurer truck campers. And he is very happy and thanking me for finding it. But all thanks to you for writing in such simple words. Big thumb up for this blog post!
