Health Issues & Anniversary.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We must still be on daylight savings time even though the calendar and the clock say different. This morning I was wide awake before 7:00 but didn’t get out of bed until after the hour had passed. As usual Kathy was not far behind sensing my absence in the bed.

With the outdoor temps hovering around the freezing mark once breakfast was complete we headed to the computers doing our E-mail and blog reading to start the day. Shortly after 9:00 Kathy called her doctor’s office to see if she could see her today about a pain she has been experiencing in her right shoulder for the last few weeks. The receptionist said to come in at 2:00 this afternoon.

Next I called the computer shop and explained the problem with the new laptop. With an apology they gave me the password to unlock the administrator mode and answered other questions I had about the newer version of Windows 7.  I then called my own doctor’s office to see if I could talk to him for a few minutes today. No problem he had a cancellation so come in for 2:00 this afternoon.

Now this might have been a problem if we had only had one vehicle but this afternoon we both headed in different directions to see our own family doctors. Kathy’s doctor did a quick examination and ordered an Ultra Sound on her shoulder thinking she might have a torn Rotator Cuff in her shoulder that is scheduled for tomorrow.

Myself I have been checked a number of times and even had two Ultra Sounds for an abdominal pain in the last three years but the cause has ever been found. When I saw my doctor today I explained of the increased level of pain and nausea that has been occurring lately. I also explained that it is worse when I am standing or walking but if I lay down or sat it lessened the problem. As soon as I lifted my shirt he told me he could see that I had a Hernia. I was immediately told to lay off my exercising as I was doing more harm than good to myself at this time. His office will be making an appointment so I’ll have this take care of before the holidays.

Today is a special day for Kathy and I as it is one year ago today that we posted our very first blog post. It has been and continues to be a learning experience. It has been frustrating and challenging but something we hope to continue doing for many years to come. We have also learned from reading the posts of fellow RV Bloggers and look forward to meeting many of you that we haven't had the chance of doing so yet.

Now with only 49 days until Christmas and another two weeks after that before we leave for Florida in January we have more things to get taken care of before we are ready to go so we'll just keep our Jello flexible. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Well, talk about doing things together, you guys take it to another level! :) You'll help each other get well, I have no doubt. I'll be thinking of you.

Congratulations on your 1 yr blog anniversary. Here I thought you were old hands at it because it's so entertaining. And your love for one another always lifts my spirits. Keep us posted on shoulder and hernia.

  2. How wonderful that you both could get in to see your doctors so quickly! Hope Kathy doesn't have anything as serious as the Rotator Cuff injury. And that you can get that hernia taken care of without too much discomfort.
CONGRATULATIONS on your one-year anniversary...of blogging of course.
