Plans Delayed

Our Location Today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We've all been there where we have definite plans for a day with thoughts of making all kinds of progress only to have them dashed and put into near reverse mod. That was our day! Kathy was having a problem with a fungus and infection that grew under her Toe Nail to the point that not only could she not wear a shoe the pain kept her awake most of last night. So after grabbing a Bran Muffin and Banana to eat outside her Doctor's office we were there by 8:50 a.m. Many times in the past her Doctor had given her Antibiotics to clear the fungus and had told her the nail would fall off on its own. Well two years of this constant delay now her doctor says you need to go to the Emergency at the Hospital where they will take care of it.

Arriving at the Hospital Emergency at 9:35 Kathy went in to start the neccessary paperwork while I managed to park the car. After a number of Doctors examined her toe, they took blood samples and X-rays to be certain the Fungus had not spread to the bone or into the blood stream.They sent us on our way at 1:30 to a Podiatrist's office that could see Kathy at 2:00. On the way we grabbed a couple of burgers to eat before we got there.

Even though we arrived on time it was another 30 minutes of paperwork. Once the Podiatrist saw Kathy & explained the treatment options and completed removing the Toe Nail we were at Drugstore to drop-off the prescriptions by 3:30. I brought Kathy home and had to return to pick up the medications only to find out they weren't ready yet.

After supper we still headed out to Kevin and Melissa's for our Wednesday night visit. Of course they had some treats they had prepared for us to celebrate our Birthdays and a few little gifts that Kathy and I can share. The entertainment crew kept us laughing as they went from rumble tumble to sleeping or back to rumbling and tumbling.

Matthew surprised his folks by making a model of an Indian Village. At first Kevin thought he was working on a school project only to find out he was doing this so he could better remember information that he learned from the Crea Indian Village that Kathy and I took him and Tyler to last summer. Can't say he didn't enjoy himself then and learn at the same time.

On our way home we stopped for a short visit with Sandy and Gerry Bronstein at their home. They just returned from being in Florida this last winter. We had a chance to hear of their experiences while away. We then talked about the upcoming trip to Shipshawana Indiana that they'll be joining us on in June.

Tomorrow I will need to catch up around here because the weather is looking to be hit and miss for the next week. I best start making progress soon because we are down to 32 days before we are on the road again which means Summer is only 49 days away. Be Safe and Enjoy!
