One Step Forward Two Back

Our Location Today is Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada.

The title alone must tell you what kind of day we had. Trying to make up for lost time after being sick we loaded up the truck and headed to the storage yard for the trailer. By the time everything was loaded and secured for travel we pulled out of the yard with the trailer in tow it was past noon.

Now everyone is probably thinking but their not supposed to be on the road for another 12 days and you'd be right. The idea was to bring the trailer out to our son's home in Amherstburg to wash and clean Ava (our 5th wheel's name) and cut the materials needed for additional storage.

After a quick bite at Burger King on Walker road we made good time and once we arrived had the trailer on spot in the driveway in less than five minutes. Once disconnected and leveled it was time to plug in and run a water line for dewinterizing. Now things started going bad .

As we started laying out pieces to be cut for shelving Kathy said the fridge wasn't working. We replugged from the house to the garage and still nothing. A neighbour offered to let us try his plug still nothing. The meters all showed power all the way to the trailer but inside nothing. Finally an executive decision was made. The trailer power worked fine on these plugs last year but we didn't have the Electrical Management System installed. The system is fool proof with a good working diagram and I have worked with Electrical components long before I started my working career. In less then the time it took to install the system removed and now everything in the trailer works like a charm.

Our plans keep being delayed by small things but hopefully we'll make better time in the next few days before the Summer like weather returns for the weekend. We are presently moochdocking at Kevin and Melissa's for the next few days. We are grateful for their hospitality. Summer offically starts in 29 days. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

  2. Oooh bummer on the electric not working properly after installing the EMS. I imagine you are thinking the unit is defective and needs to be returned?

We just bought a Progressive Industries EMS (50 amp) that Steve is going to install probably this weekend. Hope we don't run into the same problem!
