Long Day Explained, Junk Food Cupcakes and Celebration Confusion.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Sorry about that but after getting up at 5:00 Saturday morning to go exercise at the Gym then not getting home until after 11:00 last night I was just too tired to tell you about our day.

I had a good Cardio Workout that led to a good Free Weight Routine. The fact that I increased the weight by Five Pounds per Dumbbell meant it took longer to do the entire routine. I was cautious not to do anything to aggravate my Hernia but I did later feel the strain.

After a nice warm shower instead of heading home I went to our Storage Unit at Guardian Storage where I removed our Winter Emergency Kit along with our Folding Shopping Cart. I then replaced them with our Folding Camping Chairs that we got in Quartzsite Arizona a few years ago.

Kathy was just getting finishing her morning chores when I arrived in the Apartment at 9:00. We spent most of the morning on the Computers dealing with all the reading.

When it came time for lunch we finished the Leftover Chicken Nuggets and Potato Salad we got at the grocery store Deli. We even topped it off with Grapes and Chocolate Pudding Cups for dessert. It may sound like a lot but I knew I’d be working it off and we could be eating our supper late.

We cleaned up the Dishes before heading out the door and to go to our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. Years ago I’d loaned my Cast Iron Free Weights to our grandson Tyler who was into sports. Since he’s started his Apprenticeship he goes to the Gym like me and the Weights are just taking up space. He helped me load them in our Car along with the Long Bars. Somewhere they moved the Dumbbell Bars so I’ll have to get them later this summer.

Only part of the Cupcakes.

Our next stop was our daughter-in-law Jen’s house in Essex. As soon as we arrived she sent grandsons Connor and Haigan out to help unload the Car. When they first came outside they didn’t have a clue what it was for but when they saw the Weights they started moving at near lightning speed. After everything was down in the Basement and the Weights on the Tree I spent the next hour explaining to them how to safely use them. For nearly Seventeen and Fifteen Year Old grandsons they are at the age where these will help them fill in and someplace safe to spend time at home instead of elsewhere.

and a single Candle.

We were also there for another reason. We were there to help celebrate
Haigan’s Fifteenth Birthday. We visited with everyone until Jack with Dean’s assistance barbecued the Hamburgers that went with all the Summer Salads inside. The Weather Network showed the temperature felt like 91 F (33 C).

He actually asked for clothes.
Jen played it smart rather then ordering a large Cake for the occasion she ordered Three Dozed Cupcakes decorated with Junk Food in mind. Some were Sodas, others Hamburgers, others Popcorn and toppled Ice Cream Cones. All cute and delicious and even the kids cleaned those plates without wasting a crumb.

After Haigan opened his
Gifts we went outside. Thankfully the temperature had been dropping. Jen had a Campfire going that everyone was enjoying. (Our first in Three Years thanks to the Coronavirus.) Even Jen’s dog Tucker who is totally Deaf was having fun with his friend Soleiman. They were well behaved around the kids and Campfire. Before we knew it was past 10:00 and I started feeling it. With Hugs and Handshakes we were soon on our way back to Windsor.

At home I could barely see straight so I only made the short notice for the Blog.

This morning (Sunday) we slept past 8:00 after a fairly restful night. It supposedly rained overnight but there was no proof of it outside except the Clouds.

We had a Pastry with our hot drinks for breakfast before turning on the Computers. While Kathy started her reading I had to finish straightening the last of the Pill Doucettes that got mixed up when the Container fell off the shelf weeks ago.

For lunch we had Toasted Tomato Sandwiches along with the Leftover German Chocolate Cake for dessert.

I finally got caught up on my reading this afternoon. The Weather Network showed our temperature felt like 100 F (38 C) but the Clouds didn’t start to break until nearly 4:00 so we stayed put.

For supper we had grilled Ham and Sliced Potatoes along with Brussels's Sprouts. We topped it off with Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) and Lemon Meringue Pie for dessert.

This is a busy time of year for Kathy and I though it’s a bit mixed up this year. We had our grandson Matthew’s Birthday on Friday though we won’t see him until tomorrow. We celebrated our grandson Haigan’s Birthday yesterday though his Birthday was actually today. Tuesday is our daughter-in-law Melissa’s Birthday and we might see her tomorrow along with Matthew but we are not sure. Then on Thursday Kathy and I will be celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. Good thing we don’t get sidetracked.

  2. Sounds like a busy time with all that celebrating. Don't blame you for going straight to bed. Nice touch passing on those weights.
