More To Do Than Planned, Car Is Back and Kevin’s Spreadsheet Is Working.

Our Location today is at McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

With the temperature forecasted to hit 48 F (9 C) overnight we made certain that the Windows and Roof Vents were closed and we had the Bedcover on to keep warm. Unfortunately, when you are wearing Summer PJs and “Not Me” keeps covering the floor with the Bedcover and Sheets you spend most of the night shivering instead of sleeping.

It was like a dream when I saw Kathy getting up to answer the Phone and the Clock was showing it to be nearly 9:00. That wasn’t a dream, it was happening. Whatever happen to sleeping at night instead of the morning.

The call was from Stephanie at Leisure Trailers responding to our recent issues that were not on the List when the Trailer went back to the Jayco Repair Center in Middlebury, Indiana. One of Leisure’s Technicians had just left their yard to service other RVs in our Park and would be stopping to check them out.

To say we had to scramble would be an understatement. After finishing breakfast while I made the Bed, Kathy washed our Dishes and tidied up a bit. We finally had the chance to sit with our Coffees and get some reading on the Computers done. It was around 10:00 when we got a call from Jim at Windsor Gas and Diesel saying our Car was ready.

We had a Noon Appointment and were just getting ready to head out the door at 11:00 when Brad the Tech showed up. The first problem we didn’t find until the Trailer got back was the Rivets in the Entry Stairs are wearing out and causing the steps to sag down on an angle. The next thing was the Creaking Noise in the floor that we forgot about until the Trailer got back. Since Jayco repaired another problem the entire floor now has the same sound. The third thing was the Shower Door was already sagging even after just being repaired by Jayco. Once he knew what the problems were first hand we had to get moving.

We pushed it a bit but Kathy walked into Estetica right on time while I parked the Truck. With aging, Eyebrow Hair turn grey making them very difficult to see so women use Eyebrow Pencils. With Kathy’s upcoming Cataract Surgery, she won’t be able to see well enough to do them so she had her Eyebrows Tinted today. It took less then a Half an Hour and will last for Six Weeks.

We had other things to do but with it being past 1:00 we parked at Taco Bell where we used a Coupon to have lunch at a reduced price.

We then walked next door to Motor City Credit Union to get our accounts reset. They did a major upgrade to their Computers this past weekend to better protect its customers from Cyber Thieves. Kathy explained that they chose the wrong weekend to do that on because it was the end of One Month and the start of another. That’s when everyone’s cheques come in and they pay their bills On-Line.

We then drove to Green Shield where Kathy submitted the Claim Form from Healthy Heals In-Home Treatment. We’ll have our Reimbursement Cheque by next week.

After checking for our Mail at Guardian Storage we drove over to Windsor Gas and Diesel to get the Car but when we arrived Jim wasn’t there. His assistant said he’d be right back and we had barely parked the Truck on the street when he got back. He had been out trying to get another Truck going but the owner had run it completely out of Fuel and fried the Fuel Pump so it was being towed in.

Jim explained everything that was done on both our vehicles and things that we might need to address in the near future. The Final Cost was more then we had hoped for but if Jim said they were necessary it was needed because he will not try to sell you anything that he knows is not worn out.

It felt alien driving Home by ourselves but that’s what we did. Kathy started doing Data Entries on our Expenditure Spreadsheet while I went outside to dump out our Waste Tanks. For supper I grilled a Store-Bought Hawaiian Pizza on the Weber and it tasted great.

By 5:00 we were on our way to Amherstburg. Our first stop was Pharma Choice drugstore to pick up some Medication she needs to take tomorrow.

It was around 5:45 when we arrived at Kevin and Melissa’s for our weekly visit. Kathy and Melissa sat together while I worked to add the Spreadsheet that I made and a Free Spreadsheet Program onto Kevin’s Laptop. Unlike Windows Office it took a little coaxing before getting it to work properly but once it was running and I showed Kevin how to use it he was impressed. We still managed to have an enjoyable visit filled with some laughter.

Being that we were both tired we left shortly after 8:00 to head Home. There’s more to do this week so we need to get rested up. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Nice to have a competent garage you can trust and know they'll fix what needs to be done. You two are certainly busy that's for sure!
