Tire Problem, Lots Of Packing Done and Leftovers For Another Meal.

Our Location today is at Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We were awake shortly after 8:00 this morning and the only sound we could hear upstairs was the sound of Sanford walking on the tile floor. As soon as we were dressed and the bed was made we went upstairs to have our breakfast. We are starting to get used to where everything is located so we had our lunches made and were out the door by 9:00.

Since we still have a lot of things to haul from the Trailer to the Storage Unit we planned on using the Truck. After getting Kathy safely buckled in as I turned to put our Supplies in the back seat I noticed the Outer Curbside Dual didn’t look right. A good kick told me what I already knew, we had a Flat Tire.

Wanting to get a lot of packing accomplished today we simply took the car. We simply drove down Tecumseh Road until we turned south on Jefferson Avenue. This road served two purposes, the first was that it would bring us to the Trailer but the second was we needed to put gas in the Car so we stopped at Pioneer gas station.

When we arrived at Guardian Storage we needed to use the main gate because I’d forgotten to get the Remote from the Truck. Even with the delay we were still inside the Trailer by 10:00.

At that time of day our Temperature was only 28 F (-2 C) so Kathy had barely finished opening the curbside slide when I was getting our Blue Flame Heater turned on. We worked together today to finish packing things from both the Kitchen and the cabinets that we refer to as our Office. Kathy emptied the Fridge putting the Condiments we had in our Insulated Shopping Bags. They will be used while we stay at our daughter’s house. I worked at packing up the Office Supplies separating what would be stored and what little we’d bring with us.

We stopped for lunch around 12:30 for lunch having the Fruit Juice Box, Sandwich and Yogurt Cup for our dessert.

After packing for a while things were starting to get crowded so it was time to start hauling some Boxes out to the Car. Not only was the Backseat and Trunk full but I had a couple of Boxes sitting on the Trunk-Lid being held in place by the Spoiler. It was time to go to the Storage Unit.

We worked together packing away our China and the Silverware. By the time we finished that we were both tired and decided to call it a day.

After adding the last couple of Boxes to the Storage Unit we stopped at the Office to get a couple of Large Boxes to use. Most of the packing left to do now is in the Bedroom but not all of it is Clothes. When we go south for the winter we are able to do our Christmas Shopping for the following year and things we bought last winter will not find their way to our area until this coming winter.

With limited space we encourage our children to give us Gift Cards rather then things we would later get rid of. We were starting to get hungry and we had a Gift Card for Eastside Mario’s so that was where we went for supper. We both had Chicken Primavera but immediately divided our plates in Half and took the rest Home with us for another meal. We were comfortably Satisfied but not stuffed.

We were back at our daughter Karen’s home around 5:00. Even though it was 43 F (6 C) outside the slight breeze we were feeling went right through us. Once everything was brought in and put away I put my coveralls on and headed back outside to see why that Outside Dual on the Truck had gone flat. After getting the Spare Tire down it didn’t take long to pull the Flat off and what I saw was disappointing. There was a split on the Inside Sidewall where it had been pierced probably by a piece of Scrap Metal. The other Duals still have another year’s worth of tread on them.

After getting early showers, we’ll both be in bed early tonight. Our plans for tomorrow will change slightly as well. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I don't envy your chore but you seem to have it all under control. Bit by bit without wearing yourselves out.

  2. Hope you two finish getting everything out of the trailer. You need some down time from all that's been happening.

  3. I never thought about having to take everything out of my rig. It's a good reason to start culling out the things I don't really need or use. Slow and steady ..... you'll have it done in no time.

  4. Good thing the flat tire didn't happen while you were pulling the rig. Although not at the same scale, I do all the packing every spring and fall and know how tiresome that is. At least you are not faced with the dilemma of forgetting something important. And then there is the thorough cleaning of fridge, bathroom etc., so much work.

  5. We all accumulate so much stuff without realizing it, don't we? Good luck with the rest of your packing.
